  1. This has been a crazy game.
  2. If you look at the one they just showed on the broadcast you can see the webbing on one side of his glove is very thin, almost gauze like. There's holes everywhere in it. The ball hit the wall, but by striking it through that webbing.
  3. In fact they just showed another repaly that showed just this very thing.
  4. That's a lot of words to say nothing. The noise was the ball hitting the wall. But it was when it hit through the webbing of the glove. There may have been a replay that made you think it wasn't a catch. But it was.
  5. As long as we are all agreed it almost certainly was.
  6. It kinda feels like they are pitching to JD the way we are to Bergman.
  7. I'm not really sure how anyone can see the replays and not surmise that it was almost certainly a catch. Each to their own.
  8. Yeah Eovaldi is some pick up. I really like the kid. If we can re-sign him at a cheapish rate and get consistency in his work he would be a steal.
  9. Damn right. I'm absolutely loving Pearce's metamorphosis into a GG 1st baseman. Like a dancing Inspector Gadget over there.
  10. He'll feel a fool when he comes back in here and sees our snappy back and forth.
  11. Tag on another 7 here first, just for that little extra insurance.
  12. Beautiful inning! Moreland getting it done again. The sheer sexual masculinity of the man attracting the ball. I haven't looked, but surely even the math thread is feeling a bit chipper right now!
  13. Great post. The game threads are a total nonsense. Complete mess. Your assessments are spot on.
  14. Well this is an absolute shambles of a performance in every possible way. 9 walks and 3 hit batters. Poor defence at the wrong time. Not using Kimbrel in the 9th to give us a shot at the win. Non existent offence. Umpires have been dreadful. Just wonderfully s*** all over. Price needs to show us something tomorrow.
  15. Hopefully he's just warming up but his FB is in the low 90's. If he doesn't have it he's going to have to be very creative tonight.
  16. Teams don't win back to back very often because it's a very hard thing to do, but having the experience of doing it before is certainly an extra positive you'd be happy to be able to lean on, experience wise. Trying to paint it any other way is crazy.
  17. You don't think winning it the previous year brings with it a degree of experience (and possibly calm) during the heat of play off baseball? Of course it means something.
  18. Correct. https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2800058-mark-teixeira-aaron-judge-playing-new-york-new-york-was-huge-mistake
  19. Yeah it's very much anyone's at this point. I just think the Astros are the strongest of the 4 teams left. It's going to be such a great series. I believe the win will happen if Price pitches like you think, but I don't have your faith ha!
  20. I hope the Yankees get Harper and not Machado. They will definitely re-sign Happ.
  21. Price going in game 2 is the right move but he has to be on a very short leash. This series could come down to him in some ways. If he pitches well in two games we take this series. I absolutely don't believe he will do that, but here's hoping.
  22. I want to feel like this ha! I worry the Astro's are going to be too strong though. It seems weird to say about a team that we were better than, but their team just flat out scares me. Their offence is ridiculous and they are awesome on the road. That said, we are no slouches ourselves. If Price turns up and pitches well it could be the difference maker.
  23. It would be very nice if we could get it done tonight so we can reset the pitching for the Astros. Last night was amazing. I did not see that performance coming. The line up changes were rightly being called for and paid off big time.
  24. Plenty of people were worried about the pitching, before the play offs and after game 1. Personally I think we need to win tonight. I would worry about us tomorrow night behind Porcello. A quick start tonight would be very welcome. Liking the line up. Be interesting to see what the weather conditions do to the pitching. It's a real s*** night here in NYC. Hopefully it clears up quick.
