  1. I can't see a deal we could to that would make it worth it. Not for what they'll ask.
  2. Haha I bet! I've been there my friend, all worth it though. I like Newcastle. Great city and people.
  3. Worth pointing out that Moreland's awesome first half was part of the reason we got off to such a great start. It was another very good move to re-sign him.
  4. How many years of control does he have?
  5. I was happy with both trades. I didn't feel too strongly on either until the facts were in. And now they are they were very much great trades for us. Good ole Ben.
  6. This is a good summation of situation. What part of the UK, you from Tom?
  7. Yup, exactly that. Some of the moves people criticised Cherington for turned out to be a huge part of us dominating this year and picking up the Championship. Tenures are always best reviewed a few years later. But there's little patience for that sort of thing.
  8. When somebody suggested he should be MVP at the end of game 5 you said that there was no doubt about it. Seems weird that a guy that did less than Pearce with far more at bats is considered a shoe-in when Pearce isn't. Good pitching performance from Price or not.
  9. Absolutely. I still feel we will be one of the three or four teams most likely to win it. I'd take sneaking in through the wild card game if it meant a repeat.
  10. But you were adamant that JBJ should have had ALCS MVP right? What's the difference there?
  11. There'll be no more of it from me. I'll be ignoring him from here on out. To paraphrase Mr Gillum "Never wrestle with a pig. You both get dirty, but the pig likes it."
  12. Quite literally one page apart. I think its clear who has the confused mind. The fact one of your first thoughts was to even a score with somebody just after we had won the WS says all we need to know. But hey, like I say. That's fine. It's your personality. I'll leave you to this odd bitterness. I don't enjoy speaking to you at the best of times, but it's even worse when you're struggling to keep up with your own words, never mind mine.
  13. Almost certainly. It will be near impossible to to this. It was as perfect a season as we could have dreamt.
  14. Not to mention his clutch hits in game 4.
  15. If offered the opportunity, I would take that right now. I want as much of this team back together as possible for one more year.
  16. Yeah the options for closer on the free agent market seem pretty stacked this year. I'm betting at least some will take money lower than they originally would have thought they could get.
  17. It truly is. They are damned near impossible to listen to.
  18. Yup! And there's moves not mentioned there (the Moreland re-signing for example), that also worked. He and Cora did very, very, little wrong this year. Absolutely incredible years for both. We are incredibly lucky to have them.
  19. Again, we both know this isn't true, but you admittance that you wanted a target backs up my point rather nicely. It's beyond petty and odd that your reaction to winning the world series was to want to do this, but hey, each to their own. I guess people get to enjoy the end of an astonishing season in different ways.
  20. I think we both know I couldn't be the target, seeing as I've been complimentary of Dombrowski and never found the urge to waste my time arguing who is the best between him and Ben. We have been lucky to have Theo, Ben, and Dombrowski.
  21. Funny how it works out, but that trade is now a success. As was the Porcello move.
  22. Yeah, I can see that. Yeah, I can't see that.
  23. Yeah it's going to be weird not having games to watch. We will have Domborski's winter moves to argue about into the dark nights soon, however. Ha! And yeah,so many people on this team I'm so happy for. Just so pumped for everyone involved.
  24. Oh my comment wasn't aimed at you, apologies if you thought that. As you say, this is a time of celebration. I can't quite believe how good we've been this year. I thought the wheels had to come off at some point. I didn't think we could be THIS good THIS long. It feels surreal. And one cherry we should never ever forget, Machado ended on his knees for the last out looking up at the Sox celebrating.
  25. And poor John Farrell and his Desperate Dan chin.
