  1. As Bregman continues to struggle I can't help but wonder if he won't decide not to opt out and we get him next season. Short term pain for a better long term result IMO.
  2. It's right to give the higher seed homefield. So just do that like every other sport. To play all 3 games at one team's home is beyond stupid and completely unfair.
  3. I was not aware that they play all 3 playoff games at the site of the higher seed. That may be the dumbest thing I have ever seen with regard to any playoff format.
  4. One of the stranger games of the year. For much of it we got a ton of breaks, most ground balls found a hole. Then our ace got rocked and I was pretty bummed that it looked like they would lose a Crochet game. But Cedanne did what he does a lot and came up big.
  5. Yeah like the announcers I had never seen that before as well. I also can't remember the last time the Sox benefitted from so many balks in one season. I've seen as many balks this season as I've seen in my entire life.
  6. Oh I'm not comparing their stats, as I said Lynn was a better hitter and fielder. I just said he reminds me of Lynn.
  7. I keep coming back to Fred Lynn when I see Anthony hit as well. He does not play the outfield like Lynn and so far is not the hitter but there are similarities for sure.
  8. Well that game was a relief. They could not get swept at home by the Pittsburgh Pirates with Gio on the bump. Huge hit by Duran who needs more of these.
  9. That's what I noticed as well. I read the post that said he had good movement on his fastball and that was not my take. So I just watched 3-4 pitches and no there was not great movement. But he had really good velocity and excellent location, and as you said his extension and release point makes the ball jump on the hitter. So excited about what I saw last night.
  10. What a shame Tolle didn't get the win over Skenes in his first MLB appearance, he deserved it. I had no problem with him starting the 6th, he had earned that. And Weisert has been pretty good this season so I had no problem with that move, what were his better options? But he had a bad night and cost us the game. But I'm more excited at Tolle's performance than I am disappointed that they lost one game to one of the best pitchers in baseball. From a long term perspective this was a very good night. I have no idea why Alex continues to trot Hicks out in high leverage situations. And I agree that sending Rafaela had better odds than asking Wong to lay one down. And that is because major league baseball players SUCK AT BUNTING NOW which is so infuriating.
  11. i understand this. Scotty Pippen made it clear that he wanted the security of a long term contract when he signed his deal. Then 3 years later he became very upset that he was underpaid, just as Trent Williams was. Athletes tend to forget their benefit early in the contract when they become better than their current deal.
  12. I'm just not that concerned about our starters. Going into the playoffs with Crochet, Bello and Gio works for me. The 4th starter can be figured out, perhaps it's Tolle? Next season is a bit up in the air but I was pretty happy with Dobbins and if not this season Tolle will be in the mx to go with the other solid starters mentioned above. I have no trust in Houck. He seems to have had as many bad games as good games and he is hurt a lot.
  13. But players never think that way. Trent Williams insisted on a front loaded contract, near the end he was not paid as one of the top OTs and he held out, claiming that earlier money (per his request) was "in the past".
  14. I disagree. Who would you rather face in the 8th with a 1 run lead and 2 on base in October, Derek Jeter or Alex Rodriguez?
  15. I am at the beach and fortunately these games are on TV as they play the O's. But being on vacation I've only been able to catch the end of them. Wong is hitting again, that's good news. Was it me or did Navaez dog it to 2nd on the play that went to the backstop and he was out at 2nd?
  16. As I have posted I'm worried that Anthony will turn into a Scotty Pippen situation. If he continues to rake and is a multiple all star how long will be we willing to be paid like a mid-level player?
  17. 11 posts and 10 of them are negative and extremelty critical. Clown poster who should be ignorned and dismissed.
  18. While I agree with most of this I anticipated a right handed hitter at Fenway would result in a bump from his road numbers.
  19. Didn't I hear that the Yankees schedule is insanely easy the rest of the way?
  20. Please let me be wrong on Trevor Story. Please let me be wrong on Trevor Story. Please let me be wrong on Trevor Story.
  21. The issue with the Yankees is their unbalanced roster. If Judge has a bad night, as he tends to do in October and against us it seems, they are very beatable.
  22. I watched the Yankees telecast of that game. The despair in their tone as they admitted the Yankees are getting their asses kicked was priceless. God they are playing just such terrible baseball all over the field.
  23. That was my point. Why throw him out against a really good pitcher in his first game, a big game on the road against your rival?
