  1. I'm not worried about our talent. It's not too bad to lose just because your good offense and good pitching can't happen to be good at the same time. What I'm a little worried about is that we are now finding ways to lose games, which is the opposite of 2013. I don't think that this finding ways to lose will snowball too much, but if it did, it could cripple our chemistry, having a disastrous effect. As long as we win this series though, we'll be fine. If not, we're gonna have to be patient like true fans.
  2. I kinda hope we lose this challenge. I want to not benefit from the soft new rule, so that we can complain about it later when it bites us.
  3. Wow, exciting pitching showdown this game! Taz strikes out their best hitter as the NESN cameras show a Red Sox fan giving double middle fingers.
  4. Shaw will slam a hit, Young will hit one well but right at someone, and then Hannigan will hit into a double play. Please prove me wrong and score!
  5. No matter how good your offense is, one fact remains: It's hard to score in baseball.
  6. That strikeout swing by Betts is something I'd expect from Adam Dunn. Call me crazy, but I think our odds of winning this game are better now that Kelly is out. I've had an uneasy feeling about him lately.
  7. First two pitches with the new guy: Hannigan wants it down and away but gets it up and in.
  8. Are you kidding me
  9. Jays and Orioles are playing each other. With a win here, we will either pass the team that is the biggest threat to finish above us at the end of the season, or gain a lot on the team in 1st.
  10. I could not be much happier with this game. Only thing missing was a win and a few hits (but we know our offense is great). We have almost all the pieces into place. The Red Sox are going to be in first place before the end of the month.
  11. I'm ecstatic that Buchholz threw 5 scoreless! Current progress in our starting rotation becoming good this year: Price is good Buchholz is probably good Kelly might be good Porcello is good Wright is good We know our offense is nothing to worry about. We are close to becoming a solid bet to make the playoffs. Even if we lose, a great Buchholz start is all we needed here.
  12. In 3 innings, Rutledge has already made two solid defensive plays, gotten a super nice hit, and slid safe into second while his helmet fell off, revealing his epic hair for the first time as he hair flipped while standing back up on the base. Who his this guy?? If Rutledge turns out to be legit, Sandoval becomes extremely unneeded.
  13. Wow. Great win, though wins are not nearly as important now as whether or not our starting pitchers can get going. It's much better to be something like 2-8 to start the season but with a great team than it is start 8-2 due to luck and have a bad team. We're still in the "figuring out if our starting pitching is good" stage of the season. Now, 2 out of 5 starters are confirmed good, 1 is probably good, and 2 are question marks. Tomorrow's game won't be that important because we already know Price is good. All tomorrow's game will effect is one game of the season. The next Buchholz game however, will be huge. Will we have a majority of our staff reliable, or will the holes be too great? Next Buchholz game will probably be an omen for the season. Vazquez was great today. He was the epitome of himself. Hit the monster twice, framed like crazy, picked someone off... I love hearing him being compared to Yadier Molina.
  14. I think Buchholz showed he has a shot to be good this year. The home run at the end was against a batter he basically got out with the uncaught pop up. If Kelly pitches well tomorrow, then we'll be back at .500 with all 5 starting pitchers still having potential, and with plenty of games against the favorite Blue Jays to control our destiny. The most important part of the season is arguably right now. It's time to find out if we have what it takes. These are the big games!
  15. A win here with Buchholz pitching well means much more for our season chances than the result of last game. We already know Price is going to be good, so it's much more important for Buchholz to get this win.
  16. This will take 20 minutes to review... Why challenge this?
  17. Buchholz's pitches are alive today. First start, they were dead. His pitches have that Buchholz wobble now.
  18. Lol while the no-hitter was still in tact, they took out a guy who could have been the first pitcher to throw a no-hitter in their MLB debut in over 100 years. And the batter hits a homer to tie the game.
  19. Watching MLB Tonight with Amsinger, Reynalds, and Pedro Martinez. They just said that Bradley Jr.'s throw from CF to home in this game was clocked at 101 MPH. Hope we get to see JBJ pitch in some crazy game where we run out of pitchers.
  20. Kimbrel used quite good strategy. He was throwing a bit wild, but when it came to Tulowitzky, Kimbrel used his slower and easier to control breaking ball to get two quick strikes; this was not expected because he hadn't used that pitch yet.
  21. Get ready for three solo home run attempts in a row.
  22. Yes!! We just managed to get to Kimbrel!
  23. JBJ caught deciding he's going to swing before the pitch again?
  24. Our Japanese finesse relievers set up the American grit.
  25. This Ump's strike zone goes farther down on the third base side than the first base side. It also seems to be shifted horizontally towards the third base side, and wider than it should be. Tight on the first base side, but liberal on the other side.
