  1. Looks like I'm not the only one who noticed the guy with the Marlins jersey. http://news.yahoo.com/world-series-fan-creates-buzz-marlins-jersey-172727085--spt.html
  2. Why is there a guy with a Marlins jersey sitting in the front row behind the plate? A scout?
  3. Can't believe the Orioles got eliminated just like that. Go Missouri teams!
  4. After the wild pitch that allowed the go-ahead run to score, I was thinking to myself "The pitcher must feel like crap now. He's going to throw this intentional walk pitch wild too, out of nervousness." and then he did! Cards game was more amazing. Every game in the postseason this year except for the NLWC game has been great. So the Giants won the WS, then came in last, but now they're doing good on the playoffs. Perhaps the Sox can follow the same pattern.
  5. Why are the Dodgers going with Kershaw on short rest? I know they're trying to survive to game 5, but if you're trying to win the series, wouldn't it be the same, if not better odds of winning the series if they save him for game 5? At the end of the day, you still have to win with both pitchers so why wouldn't you take the option that gives them full rest?
  6. Wow... Lackey batted and worked a 3-2 count. I messed with my TV's picture options to make the picture black and white and a little fuzzier so I can watch this game like it's 1945.
  7. Man, what is wrong with the top teams this year? All advantages are scrapped and the postseason is just a free-for-all now. Hoping for a KC vs STL world series.
  8. So I have to say, I had a great time at the Revolution game. I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys soccer on TV. When you're there, all the little passes and midfield stuff is interesting. You just have to get used to the low amount of scoring chances in the sport. It's really all about creating scoring chances, instead of constant scoring chance after scoring chance like all the other sports. But the fewer scoring chances makes the ones that do happen more exciting. I had $30 seats in Section 104 towards the middle and somewhat up, and the view was good. The fans there were all kinds of people: rowdy jocks, soccer nerds, families, etc. The Porch seems to be a standing room area behind one of the goals where all the rowdy fans go. My only complaint is that the NFL markings were on the field; I got used to it after a while though. Revolution goalie Shuttleworth played really well and saved our butts a few times. New-to-MLS superstar Jermaine Jones was really fun to watch. He's so good under pressure and can really create scoring chances. He even scored the Revs' game winning goal! The win was important and kept the Revs safely in a playoff spot for now. Here's a recap of the game:
  9. So MLB Tonight seems to think this was one of the best postseason games ever. It definitely makes my top 10. How high this game ranks will depend on whether or not the Royals win it all. There may not be a better wild card game for 50 years. This tied the record for most SB by a team in a postseason game at 7. I will be rooting for the Royals the rest of the way.
  10. lmao they pitch out when the Royals steal, and the ball goes in and out of the catcher's mitt. Also, that just happened.
  11. Omg they tied it in the 12th!
  12. That was the gutsiest steal I've ever seen. If he's out at 3rd his team almost certainly gets eliminated. But it allows KC to get the sac fly and TIE the game in the 9th.
  13. I see your point, but I think the closeness of the game makes up for it. But now that I think about it, the A's could have taken Lester out sooner. And Perez flailing at that 0-2 pitch to ruin the sac-fly chance was frustrating to watch.
  14. Huh? How can you not find this to be a great game? I think it just seems bad because of the mind-numbingly dull play-by-play announcer.
  15. I have never seen a runner steal a base faster than Gore just did. I feel like he just broke a world record or something.
  16. Could this announcer be any more boring for the situation? He's calling this like it's spring training.
  17. So does anyone here care about MLS? I got a sudden urge to become a New England Revolution fan. Going to my first MLS game this Saturday.
  18. Both Chris Rose and Kevin Millar picked the Orioles to win the AL
  19. Alright who's pumped for the ALWC game? I'm pumped for the ALWC game. If this is a close game, it's going to go down in history as one of the best wild card games ever (assuming one of these two teams wins the WS). The not-rich Athletics went all-in this year and HAVE to win this game. On the other side, the Royals haven't made the playoffs in half of their fans' lifetimes, so therefore they HAVE to win this game too.
  20. Wow it was so improbable that Jeter would even get to bat again. Orioles hit 2 homers to tie it in the 9th, the second HR coming with 2 outs. Then, on the last home game of his career, Jeter pokes the game winning hit by the first basemen's dive. This was one of the best MLB games of the year.
  21. The Jeter cam is going strong in Jeter's last home game. First 2 Orioles batters of the game hit home runs lol
  22. Did Prado seriously just have to have his appendix removed? Nothing can go right for the Yankees.
  23. Omg Prado barely homered! My odds of moving on just went from like 30% to 90%
  24. Curt Schilling is a color commentator on the Yankees game now.
