  1. Hannigan may always look depressed and like he's on serious drugs, but he might be almost as good as Saltalamaccia offensively and better than him defensively. I like him so far.
  2. I actually want the Senators to win this series because I don't want them wasting our playoff spot. And in the NHL.com bracket contest, I picked the Senators to lose in the stanley cup final.
  3. My Dad drove from Maine to this game so Buckwheat better bring it.
  4. Another chapter in the journey of finding out whether or not Bogaerts is clutch. Today was the best possible result for us because the two teams trying to catch us both lost and we won. Some of these wins are kinda shaky so let's hope for some solid stable baseball.
  5. First place maintained! What an odd way to start the season. Rays and Jays currently battling it out to see who gets to be 2nd Tazawa might be our best pitcher.
  6. Holt has his own version of Pedroia's at-bat ritual. The glove adjusting and mouth flexing is similar.
  7. Nava is so good! Even when he gets out, he always puts good contact on the ball. I think all 6 pitches to Hannigan were in the zone and he at last gets a hit off the last one.
  8. Napoli for leadoff hitter 2015
  9. I know it's only the first inning, but imo Masterson is pitching better than Porcello was. He's pitching very smart with sweeping sliders and backdoor pitches. He's keeping the ball down and playing it safe.
  10. Is it too early to look at the standings? No. We have one game on the Rays and Jays. Let's stay in first!
  11. End of the season was a HUGE letdown. With a few games to go, 4 teams were competing for 3 spots and the Bruins ended up as the 1 team that didn't make it. Going to try and forget this season but that might be hard since I play NHL 15 regularly. Bruins tied the record for most points a team has ever had without making the playoffs. Would have made the all time record if they won the shootout against the Lightning. I hate how our 9 shootout losses or whatever were the difference between us making it and not making it. We better have the 3 on 3 rule in effect for next year. Bruins are one of the best teams at creating chances, but for the last 2 years they've been struggling at finishing. At first it seemed like a fluke and that they were just getting unlucky, but you have to wonder if their current style of play or skill at finishing is actually flawed. Something seems wrong with their style of play. They almost always dump the puck in and then try to force a battle along the boards in the offensive zone to win the puck. The problem with this is that it makes both teams fumble around with the puck, and after much stick jabbing and poke checking, the Bruins sometimes win the puck in the offensive zone and are able to get in their shooting formation. But the method they use to get the puck in the offensive zone seems luck reliant. By dumping and chasing, they create a chaotic battle for the puck where because they aren't more physical, it's luck which team ends up with it after much stick slapping and fumbling around. Then when they do get close to the net, or even get all alone on the goalie, they usually fail to elevate the puck. So all the goalie has to do is drop to the default butterfly position and he wins. This is what happened on pretty much every single one of the Bruins' breakaways in the last 5 games of the season. With the referees getting softer and not allowing as many fights, perhaps it's harder to play the same physical style. As long as we have Claude's system in place and have guys like Hamilton and Lucic around, we should still try to be a physical team. We should try to become what we were in the 2014 season when we won the president's trophy. Let's be a physical team that also has a fast skater on every line. All of our lines should be made more like the Lucic and Pastrnak line, with both physicality and a finisher present. I guess. I'm not an expert on team building yet. But I know we had an awesome team in 2014 and just cause we lost a game 7 in the playoffs doesn't mean that team was flawed. Let's become like the 2014 team with more finishing ability.
  12. A couple of his this year were really fluky though. But I agree, he will come around. Hopefully when other members of the offense are slumping, Napoli will get hot. Right now we're first in the AL East and the other guys are rolling, which is buying Nap some time before he needs to start changing games.
  13. I'm surprised something like this didn't happen earlier. A lot of his pitches early in the game looked very straight and easy to hit.
  14. Time to Nap to hit one off the monster
  15. Holy freaking cow their defense! Now let's score even more runs to prove we would have had monster offense anyways without their defense.
  16. Put the dagger in the heart. Betts!
  17. Holy cow on ice, their defence.
  18. Bogearts passed the clutch test for today!
  19. So we only loaded the bases thanks to a mistake from their outfielders, but hey, you deserve a chance at that whenever you make contact and not strike out.
  20. Sandoval's belly is for protecting him from pitches like that.
  21. Very good. He had to run a very long way (even a little into Victorino's territory) and then jump back to rob a home run.
  22. If it's only the second inning, then Betts is on pace to steal 9 bases and hit 5 home runs this game!
  23. Very entertaining outfield catch and baserunning by Betts!! The Ortiz RBI would have been a heck of a lot more exciting if that long replay review didn't kill the mood.
  24. This loss wasn't as bad as it looks. One very lucky guess by Arod on pitch location causes a 7-run first inning. Then we fall a little short of a couple huge innings when we loaded the bases a couple times. We could have easily scored 5 more runs, especially if Bogearts' hit into DP was just a bit more to the left.
  25. Whatever we still won the series. But can they at least keep the game close enough so it's fun to watch throughout???
