    Wow, that was some game. First, the Bruins get penalized in the first 2 seconds of a penalty kill to make a 5 on 3 against them that was supposed to last 1:58. Just when you start to think they're going to let the game get tied, the Lightning get a penalty and we score a 4 on 3 SHG to make it 3-1...

    Dang, I couldn't see this game. Got home like 20 mins ago. It's so freaking weird knowing that one of those teams is done. It happened so fast. The ONE time I want the Rangers to win a game, they don't. This is good for baseball though; either Francona will have a historic ALDS against us, or we'll add some history to the increasing drama of the Sox/Rays rivalry.

    I would like to officially retract my prediction that the Braves will make it to the WS. Cardinals should make it. They are just all-around good, like the Giants in 2010.

    Guardians' record vs over .500 teams is very low this year though.

    I like how you can buy Guardians 2013 Wild Card Game hats now. You're going to look so kool in 2015 with a hat about a 1 game playoff that the Guardians lost. @Jacoby Ellsbury: They changed it back to a 2-2-1 format. I like this, because it should be possible for either team to win the series at home.

    Cubs secretly traded Alphonso Soriano for Girardi. Hope he has fun trying to avoid mathematical elimination from third place all year. The Cubs really need someone who is good at handling all the media hype, with Chicago being such a crazy baseball city lately.

    I love MLB so much. Two-way tie for Wild Card 2 with 2 games left. Teams that are 90-71, a good record, are struggling just to get a huge-disadvantage-spot in the postseason. Only 6/30 teams get normal playoff spots. You can't just be any good team to be in the playoffs. You really have to prove yourself as an elite team over a very fair 162 game schedule. This isn't the NBA where a 41-40 team can make it, or the NFL where the schedule is a puny 16 games spread out over 16 weeks. This is baseball, where the standings get tweaked every day of the season, everyone fighting for the top and desperately needing other teams to lose. The playoffs are everything because even good teams don't make it every year. We have to capitalize and WIN this year. So let's make sure we get that first seed tonight.

    I figured that people who are on the chat would also be on the game-thread at the same time so they could post analyses and stuff that wouldn't work as well in a spammy chat. I didn't really want the chat to take over the game thread. And I definitely think the GT suffices fine. I just thought this might be cool, especially if it helps us get more forum members. Also, I wonder if it's possible to get a chat that lets you take a transcript of what everyone said and keep a record of it. It would be cool to have a record of our live reaction to winning the WS.

    Since this is such a special year, we should make a special chat room for us to talk on while we're watching the playoff games. It would be awesome to see everyone's live reactions to big moments. The chat room would ONLY be open while Sox playoff games are in progress, so the forums will still be the main way of communicating. This will only be used for the playoffs. After the playoffs are over, we will delete the chat room. Who wants to do this? I can make the chat if nobody else wants to, but I don't have a way of making it only officially open at specific times. One advantage to the chat would be that it would attract a lot of strangers, who would end up enjoying watching the games with us and decide to join the forum. This could double our amount of active members if successful.

    Ellsbury was a little shaky in his first AB but battled back from an 0-2 count to get a nice hit and start a 3-run first inning. And yes, MLB Tonight absolutely loves covering the Western games and the NL central more than anything. I feel like they don't talk about the Sox enough, but maybe they're just talking about them while I'm on NESN watching the game. I wish the east got more of the late night attention, but the games aren't on late enough sometimes.

    Swankiest grand slam of the decade. If you edited the video to make it black & white with terrible quality, it would look like a real old fashioned home run. Peavy had a below average start, but you can blame it on the high altitude and "it being one of those nights"
