  1. Now hit it as HARD AS YOU CAN Ortiz
  2. It's getting real GOOD
  3. I'm going to get tired of the "farewell Jeter" stuff by the end of the year. Seems like more fans just filmed him strike out than were watching the game. There was a headline on MLB.com the other day about Jeter grounding into a DP to score a run.
  4. Decision not to send Herrera home cost us a run.
  5. VERY nice swing by AJ, predicting that breaking ball
  6. Sizemore's effort makes me want Ryan Kalish back.
  7. AJ will swing at the first pitch and ground out 3 times, then storm the ump and get ejected before his fourth AB.
  8. Sox will win this game 7-4. Ortiz homers, Nava and Pedey get a combined 6 hits, Nap and Sizemore double, Bogearts hits one off the monster, AJ and JBJ strike out.
  9. Nava has been hitting a lot of line drives this year; they've just been right at fielders. I'd rather have Pedroia leading off, but I'm okay with Nava.
  10. I vote for calling up Holt.
  11. Buchholz BETTER not pull a Tim Lincecum or a Daniel Bard and fade away forever...
  12. On a side note, I'm really not a fan of playing a NL team on the home opener. I think all these interleague games at increasingly jumbled times are part of a conspiracy to merge the leagues to get the DH in both leagues.
  13. Powerhouses goin tonight.
  14. Lol @ Obama smiling HARD with his trollface. We all know he's a fake baseball fan. Go back to your basketball. Anyways, I heard the reason Farell didn't pinch hit Gomes for JBJ last game was cause Gomes was really bad against that pitcher.
  15. There's already controversy about the new rule where catchers have to give a runner coming home the lane because collisions are banned. A play at the plate went under replay review only to have the reviewers make the wrong call. They shouldn't have called the runner out because the catcher took away the basepath.
  16. I agree; after all, getting more hits with RISP is what determines winners and losers. Clutch hitting is what baseball is, and I happen to believe in it. But all the hits today aren't useless to me because they show that our offense is warm, which increases the odds that we'll string some hits together soon.
  17. It's weird seeing the standings wide open again. I feel like the terrible teams are already stuck at the bottom, but they're not.
  18. I think it depends on whether or not you believe in clutch hitting. You could say we did well because we out-hit the O's and were just unlucky that more hits didn't come with RISP. Or you could say that hitting better with runners in scoring position (clutch hitting) is a skill so we should have been better at it.
  19. Is it just me or do the Orioles have a much more lively than usual crowd? It was like Fenway there today.
  20. Wait, I thought we were only 5 games back of a wild card spot in the Spring Training Playoffs. Was hoping we'd win the Spring Training World Series this year.
  21. Hockey is the sport to watch right now! The Bruins have won 11 in a row and will be sole possessor of most points in the NHL if they win tonight. Seidenberg is recovering faster than expected and it's not impossible we will see him return to play in the Stanley Cup Final or a little sooner.
  22. Is Stephen Drew starting his own team or what, because he is taking forever to choose one.
