  1. That's the second HR Nava has absolutely CRUSHED this year.
  2. Batters need to stop doing the thing where they start to walk to first on a close pitch with 3 balls. They know it might not be ball 4 but they still do it. Umps aren't going to think your fake confidence means it's more likely outside. Get the umps' respect by not doing it.
  3. Adam Dunn goes 6-for-6 with 3 home runs thanks to his amazing plate discipline this game.
  4. Let's play injury roulette! Is it possible that the modern strike zone is forcing pitchers to throw more breaking balls, causing more stress in their arms?
  5. There's a 95% chance that the moon landing was real. The water supply stuff is iffy. No good reason to put a lot of the crap that gets put in our water in there. UFOs are real. George H.W. Bush basically admitted it. Aliens are probably real due to the sightings before we had aircraft technology, plus a TON of modern evidence. There is a 70% chance that 9/11 was an inside job, and a 98% chance that the government was trying to cover at least something up. The government is likely trying to take away our firearms so they can safely create a police state without revolution. Camps that resemble concentration camps are already being built. Supposedly, these are to house people in the event of a natural disaster, but if so, then why are the fences slanting in, and have barbed wire? There is a 1% chance that some politicians and media members are reptilian aliens in disguise. There was a moment on live TV (I think a politics show) where a news man actually hissed reflexively out of nowhere. HAARP research facility in Alaska was doing some really sketchy stuff. The government will attempt to mandate that every infant get implanted with a GPS tracking device to "keep everyone safe". Almost anything is possible to brainwash the public into accepting with proper use of the slippery slope. First, the media will have stories about mothers choosing to implant their children to "make sure they don't get lost". Then, a health care reform will make hospitals provide implantation as an option. Then, after it gains popularity, the government will be like "well, might as well mandate it". When it gets mandated, the chip location will get moved from somewhere removable like the arm to somewhere permanent such as the head. Bam; everyone is now in Big Brother's system and permanently on the grid. There could be a long-term plot to make the whole world one country. First, the US has to make its government similar to all the other governments to make it compatible. But more importantly, a more powerful UN could just police the whole world and protest anything it doesn't agree with, effectively becoming in charge of the world. A one-world currency will be proposed to make the merging of countries easier. The US is already considering making its money look similar to Canada's; this could be the first step in a very gradual one-world-currency con. The annual Bilderberg meetings are a FACT. It's just that we don't know what they talk about. These are meetings where leaders, businessmen, media members etc from all around the world discuss world issues. I really don't like the most powerful people in the world making sure they're all on the same page with things. Perfect way to set up the NWO.
  6. We don't have to hit higher than our average in the clutch; we just need to stop hitting worse in the clutch.
  7. This Blackmon guy is ridiculous. He's 19 for 38 in twelve games, including a game where he went 6-for-6.
  8. I bet Farrell's thinking is: "The best way to give a new pitcher confidence and show that he's accepted is to bring him in in a high stress situation"
  9. Dang, Sizemore is on my fantasy team but I didn't put him in the lineup tonight.
  10. Funniest moment this year. Ortiz with the infield single.
  11. What was the crowd just chanting after Gomes' homer??
  12. There's 1 out; time to steal 3rd.
  13. What bothers me about the YES announcers is that they sometimes don't get excited enough when their team gets an RBI. They just call it like another play.
  14. Middlebrooks might not have made that play.
  15. If the Sox win, and the Rays and Jays lose tonight, there will be a 4 way tie for first.
  16. Did anyone else just see the story on MLB Network about Gomes and that cancer surviving kid?
  17. Nava was 5th in the whole AL in OBP last year; 8th in batting average. Last year, the only AL outfielder better than him at getting on base was Mike Trout. Nava's an OBP guy and I don't think that only power hitters are allowed to be excused for poor defense and baserunning. Nava has a had a low average so far, but a lot of his outs have been ringing line drives. He'll come through. JBJ has not proved himself enough to have a certain position job yet. He could just be on a 3-game hot streak. He has however, proven himself worthy of getting a chance, so let's keep putting him in against righties
  18. But how much pine tar was he using? Isn't it bad for him to use such an obvious amount?
  19. There's reports of Pineda using an illegal substance on the ball last night.
  20. Here's the latest news on Dempster: http://wapc.mlb.com/cutfour/2014/04/10/71649012/photo-ryan-dempster-chicago-cubs-beard-usps
  21. Welp, Nava and Buchholz are on my fantasy team, so this night was productive for me.
  22. Expanded replay is starting to become an injury risk for infielders. Now infielders tagging out a sliding runner can't do the swipe tag as much; they have to just hold their glove between the base and the runner, and wait for the runner to crash into it. Someone's already had to leave a game because of this.
  23. Yanks are going to get owned 8-1 tomorrow. We're supposed to be against a rookie righty.
  24. We needed that. 4-5 record is so much better than 3-6
