I just had a question for anyone who knows the answer. I can't really find a consensus answer online. Does Henry Owens project as an ace, 2 guy, or middle of the rotation?
It is outlandish. Is Chris Davis still a 50 hr hitter? In 500 at bats last year he only hit 13 and this year he only has 7 through 367 at bats. The cards are obviously concerned about him cause no team in their right mind would give a .300 25 hr guy and a stArting pitcher for lackey when they need offense desperately. I really hope you are right though with Craig.
Some of you are really high on craig. Sure he was a very nice player last year and is a career .291 hitter, but he has been HORRENDOUS this year. His numbers compare to Xander Bogaerts'. The Cardinals are already in need of offense this season as they are second to last in the nl so that shows you how low they were on him this year. If he can regain his form, obviously it would be a good deal for the sox. But for the cards to just give us arguably their best hitter last year might mean they think he is really screwed up right now.
Andrew Miller was regarded as one of the best pitchers in his draft class. He was picked before kershaw. He has finally figured it out the past couple of seasons and this year has been dominant. I hope we can get him back for next season. This dude isnt even a top 100 prospect and sucks in double a.
What the hell are we doing here. We have craig, victorino, nava, cespedes, jackie bradley jr and sometimes brock holt in the outfield now and now mookie can't come up?
Fenway improves double numbers. However, it is not very hr friendly. It has only favored the batter once in the last ten years. And our last two big power acquisitions ( adrian gonzalez and mike napoli) have both seen their hr numbers decline when coming here.
This is really only worth it if we are able to resign lester next year. Cespedes has essentially turned into a .260 hitter who will hit you just over 25 hrs in a season and can't get on base. He is like what you want from mike napoli power wise but without the obp.
Does anyone know why the sox haven't called up ranaudo yet? He has been the sox best minor league pitcher this season and has been pretty dominant in triple a. His not super young either as he is almost 25. I would have liked to see him start tomorrow over brando.
