  1. What I meant was that you don't want to bolster the offense anymore and focus on pitching instead? I never said I thought bogaerts was the center piece of the offense. All i said was that its going to take a lot of dough and resources to land those 3 so I assumed you were fine with the offense the way it is.
  2. Ahahah mookie definitely doesn't have a cannon. I can see why he is a second basemen.
  3. In 2012 the offense was fine up until papi went down and the dodger trade, but the starting pitching was just horrendous. Every one of our starters had a down year. Luckily, lester, buchholz and doubront rebounded in 2013 and pitched well. This year, the starting pitching was alright until the deadline trade but the offense has been historically bad for a red sox team. Hopefully papi can keep it going next year, pedroia can rebound, xander can get his head out of his ass, and the sox can get back to having a great offense again.
  4. So you want to take the route of making sure we have very good starting pitching and an alright offense?
  5. Yup. We all knew it was going to happen.
  6. What do you suggest we do with rubby? Him and kelly are the only ones who have shown this year that they could be in the rotation next year. And I highly doubt we get sale, lester, and hamels. Sale is going to cost us a ridiculous amount of prospects and so will hanels.
  7. Very true. Not to mention this is now going to be 4 of the last 5 years not making the playoffs.
  8. Right now we are on pace for 70 wins.
  9. We have to get at least to 70 wins. Thats all I'm pulling for. Just don't have a record worse than 2012.
  10. Does anyone know what our payroll will be going into the offseason?
  11. All i heard was that he had a back spasm while throwing a pitch in the fifth. When he was throwing after that to see if he was ok, he wasn't able to repeat the pain he felt and was fine. Farrell said they took him out as a precaution and that they were going to check how he is later today.
  12. I think kelly should stay as a starter based off what he has done so far. 3 very good outings and one really bad outing that could have been better if xander put his foot on second. If he continues to be good, then he should be in the rotation. However, we definitely do need 2 really good starters.
  13. Sums this season up really.
  14. Brandon workman's mid to high 4 era doesnt cut it in today's mlb. This isn't the late 90's early 2000's any more. A 4.00 era is average now in the al.
  15. Yup. I'm not concerned about workman he shouldn't be in the mix to be a starter next year. Only ones who have showed promise this year to be in next years rotation are kelly and rubby. If they can continue to do what they are doing, it looks like a fight between buch, ranaudo, and webster for a final spot and clay is leading that because of what he has proved he can do in the past.
  16. I am with you. Either trade high for him or keep him as our super utility guy. And when someone goes down from injury he can take their spot.
  17. Hopefully koji can get himself together so we don't have to add closer to our list of what we need next year. We have so many needs.
  18. His stuff hasn't been there the last 3 outings.
  19. Koji is starting to implode
  20. Tommy layne has impressed me a lot. He should be a regular next year in our bull pen. As for the rotation, rubby and kelly are starting to pitch their way into next years rotation,
  21. Back spasms i guess.
  22. Cespedes said he was going to just try to hit a lot of line drives in boston and not focus on hrs but thats bs. He swings out of his shoes every time he swings.
  23. You are absolutely right. In 2011 in pawtucket, I remember that Lavarnway was unbelievably dominate. I don't have the stats but I'm pretty sure hit around 20 hrs in like 60 games and was up around .300. In his limited time here last year he was hitting pretty well. I agree that they should reevaluate there coaching staff and scouts down there.
  24. All I know is that Cespedes' numbers trumped his and jose abreu weren't even comparable. The sox must see something because if he doesn't have power and is a 250 hitter, we wasted a lot of dough.
