  1. I would be scared to get him. I'm sure he could be a better hitter than bradley, but his stats in cuba were not overwhelming. Cespedes had many more hrs and his average was 20 points higher. Considering that cespedes has turned into a 250- 260 hitter and this guy didnt even hit as well as him cuba, I question what this guy will be able to hit.
  2. Its really tough to watch bogaerts right now. After that hot span he had in may, he absolutely fell off of a cliff and hasn't been able to rebound whatsoever. Since his slide began on june 8th, he has hit only 8 extra base hits in total! That is beyond pathetic. What has been even more pathetic is that since june 9th, he has hit a whopping .148. 148 FOR CHRIST SAKE!! Joe Kelly could hit better than that! I know he is still young, but I don't know if keeping him up during this slump was the right thing to do. I don't know if only sending him down to triple a for eleven games would do anything so its to late to send him down. Since he doesn't appear to be figuring anything out now in the bigs, I think maybe a trip to pawtucket back in early august would have been good for xander. Its evident that we rushed him up too soon and its unfortunate to see him hitting this poorly right now.
  3. We need papi here to break up another no hitter.
  4. Thats true. He lunges at a lot of pitches. Especially thos breaking balls on the outside of the plate.
  5. Its 1 run or 5 runs for him. He either has it going on real good or has nothing. He has rarely been in between.
  6. Whats wrong with xander? Is he just not balanced when he swings?
  7. Nice job cv. One of the very few players on this team doing what they are suppose to be doing.
  8. Xander hits so many damn pop flys its ridiculous. His fly ball rate is almost as high as papi's and thats a terrible thing considering he doesn't have the power papi does.
  9. It has. I'm also not impressed with Mike Napoli. He'll get his useless walks from time to time which is why his obp is good, but his doubles are down and his hrs are down. Nap has to hit 20 hrs a season as a bare minimum with good double numbers if he is going to be a .265 hitter.
  10. He got his average up to the .280s but I'm still not impressed with him. He use to have 15-20 hr power and could hit 300 easy. I'm worried about him turning into a little bit better than average hitter who is just a really good second basemen.
  11. This cole calhoun is pretty good. I would like to see him bat lead off for us.
  12. No ortiz in the lineup today. The other guys have to step up now.
  13. In my opinion , he should be but he will be on the border. As a red sock, he has averaged a .290 batting average with 34 hrs ( assuming he can hit at least 5 more this year), 107 rbis, and 136 games played a season. He has had 4 seasons with an ops over 1000 (if you include the incomplete 2012). His best ever for hrs was 54, for rbis 148, and average for a season was .332. He also had arguably the best world series performance of all time and has become a postseason legend. While I don't know if he will get in, all I know is that his number absolutely should be retired and he should have his own statue at fenway Since 2003, he has pretty much been up there with the best hitters in the regular season from a statistical standpoint. The average is a little low, but production wise he has been right up there with pujols, arod, and cabrera.
  14. When he heats up, he literally carries the team.
  15. Pretty much. That wasn't even a meatball kelly got.
  16. Wow I didn't know swihart climbed that high. He is rated as the number 2 catching prospect in baseball and the number 3 prospect in our organization now. Vasquez is not in the top ten so I would assume swihart projects as our next guy most definitley.
  17. Russell martin seems like a pretty good idea. And is swihart seen as our primary catcher for the future and vasquez isn't?
  18. There is a common thing between both xander and jackie besides the fact they both can't hit right now. After both of there hot streaks, they both fell off a damn cliff. Xander went from hitting 300 by the beginning of june to hitting .240 by july and now he is down to .230. Jackie started heating up in July but has been unbelievable futile the last two weeks as he hasn't got one measly hit. They have hit these walls and haven't been able to rebound whatsoever. Its normal to cool down after a hot streak, but becoming absolutely non productive is a different thing,
  19. 45 at bats is the record for a non pitcher
  20. At the perfect game combine thing he registered a fastball at 93. And that was in high school.
  21. He's no one you have to concern with. He was in pawtucket this year hitting .228. They didn't want to bring swihart up so he is up here.
  22. Hahahahhaha. Brock holt had one too yesterday.
  23. What a day jackie... Might as well be me up there.
  24. Xander in danger of going down under .230. WMB/ JBJ/ Xander have really been incredibly bad this season offensively.
