  1. Prospects aren't really Jackso's thing.
  2. Is that statistically based or wishful thinking?
  3. A win tonight and we'll have a six game division lead and the best record in the majors.
  4. Sorry, I confused you with the poster who said this would be the perfect time to call him up.
  5. I didn't rip you or say Drew would be back sooner, so I have no skin in the game. But your post makes it sounds like you're really excited that Drew is hurt. If you really think being right about a Red Sox player being hurt trumps all else, then that makes you a pretty s***** fan.
  6. It's official then, Cecchini is the better prospect.
  7. Maybe the Yankees will catch lightning in a bottle and go on a playoff run. But chances are they won't, and they will deal away prospects and hurt their draft position in order to try to make this team competitive. Then they'll sign Cano to a ridiculous extension and in three years he'll be their next A-Rod.
  8. Jackso hasn't had the opportunity to embarrass himself in days, he's just making up for lost time.
  9. It's always good to have competition, if Snyder continues to hit well his hat could be thrown in to the ring as well. The only tough part will be finding both Middlebrooks and Bogaerts playing time at third base at AAA. Middlebrooks will eventually have to be called back up so Bogearts can get steady reps. And then the competition will be on. Both players will probably be on the roster in September, and whoever's playing better will probably get playing time.
  10. If you take the sky is falling position 100% of the time, you're bound to be right every once in a while. Your argument that Drew would be out long because his brother is JD Drew is just as ignorant now as it was when you first made it. And the fact that you're excited that Drew is injured just speaks to what a terrible "fan" you are.
  11. Yes, that does appear to be your argument. He's hitting .234 in AAA right now and Brandon Snyder has a .895 OPS in the majors, but you want to call up Bogaerts for psychological reasons.
  12. I agree with everything you said. The idea that our best prospect is a surplus is ridiculous.
  13. 5.5 game lead. Sitting pretty.
  14. To me, this is a no-brainer. We have a prospect who is ready and will immediately provide better defense. Within a couple of years, he could probably provide similar offense, and he will cost 1/30th the price of Ellsbury. Why not spend the extra $17.5 million a year on a power bat, a top of the rotation starter, or some bullpen depth?
  15. It's hard to say how the new draft pick rules will affect Ellsbury's value, but I'd expect him to sign a 6-7 year deal at something like $18 million per year.
  16. Yup, no way Ellsbury gets less than $100 million. We're better off with the draft pick and Bradley in centerfield. I think he'll be more valuable in two years.
  17. So... who thought we should have signed Josh Hamilton?
  18. I'm loving this Angels defense.
  19. This looks silly now.
  20. More Mike Carp please.
  21. The RBI's are a result of the hitters in front of him. He's hitting .245 .339 .422 with runners in scoring position.
  22. Yeah, I don't understand why Carp isn't getting more playing time while he's hot.
  23. This is going to be a rough road trip. Not only is it on the West Coast, but we're seeing Wilson, Weaver, King Felix and Iwakuma. If we can split, it would be a victory.
  24. This is the big leagues, these wins matter. You don't promote a struggling player to pump his tires.
