  1. Pretty much. Lester laid an egg. Every time we took the lead Lester gave it right back.
  2. The third baseline was uncovered. Stupid baseball by Papi. Sorry, thats just the way it is.
  3. Papi needs to bunt down the 3rd baseline here.
  4. Wall ball for Pedey here.
  5. Battle of the bullpens between the 13 ranked pitching staff and the best one. Good luck Red Sox.
  6. Thats a very good assessment. And its going to be that way all year long. We will have spurts where we win 5 or 6 in a row. Then we will have losing streaks of equal length. Mediocrity. No playoffs. Not that we deserve to make the playoffs. Not this team.
  7. The O's are about to put this one away. Watch and weep
  8. Its not bad enough that GONZOBUM isn't costing us games with his bat. He has to cost us games with his glove too.
  9. The Orioles are into the soft underbelly of the Red Sox. The bullpen will blow this game again.
  10. If I am Valentine I have someone warming up in the pen right now. Lester does not have it tonite. Again.
  11. Its not the breaks; its just that this team is a .500 team. This is what a .500 team looks like. Oh wait...they are BELOW .500.
  12. Thats ace with two s's. Ass
  13. Lester will surrender at least five runs tonite.
  14. Get someone up in the pen Bobby. Lester doesn't have it. Again.
  15. When you need a big game, you can count on Jon Lester not to show up. Pathetic effort. What a stiff.
  16. Lester is about to give those runs right back.
  17. Too many LOBsters....we aren't going to win this way.
  18. Runners on first and third, no out out=no runs? You gotta be kidding me.
  19. They are lying to the fans. There is no other way to look at it. If tickets remain unsold at the end of the game then, by definition, the game was not a sellout. See the dictionary definition of "sellout". Its pretty cut and dry IMO. Now I also realize that if the FO began saying that games are not being sold out then some fans might get complacent and not rush out to buy a ticket before they "sell out". That could hurt business. I guess that fact justifies lying to the fans. It simply needs to stop.
  20. SFF is right. This deserves its own thread. To continue the discussion started on the game thread today, Boston.com is conducting a poll of what people think about this new data whereby the Red Sox call it a sellout when lots of tickets are not sold. So far with a little over 4000 people voting, over 85% think its either "totally bogus" (55%) or that it casts the team in a bad light. Less than 15% are OK with it and less than 2% of that 15% are "proud of it". I think its a deceptive crock of crap and should be stopped immediately even though the consequences to the ownership will be fewer number of fans rushing out to buy tickets panicked that the game "always sells out".
