We could be 0-14 right now and I would still be looking at the Yankees score wishing them the worst of luck. Like they say: my favorite team is the Red Sox; my second favorite team is whoever is playing the Yankees.

Damn Yankees are ahead of the Rangers 6-1. Figures the Rangers would take a dive once the Yanks showed up.

Cook is certainly worth a try, but thats 1.50 in the minors. He has not excelled much in the ML. We have to try something but Cook is unlikely to excel on this team. If he could just tread water until DiceK returns I would be happy.

It all seems pretty dysfunctional right now. What I wouldn't give to be a fly on the wall in some of those meetings....

I have seen Tazawa once this year, and in his two outings he has had good location, movement, and velocity. Padilla also looked pretty good at one point. I hope he works out well, but I am reserving judgement on him until I see more of him. As for Valentine having to leave Doubront in the game because he doesn't trust his pen to hold an eight run lead, thats pretty sad. I can't think of any other reason to leave him in there at 99 pitches with the season so young. Doubront is probably not going to toss 200 innings, or even 180this year. Its his first year as a SP in the majors, and these kinds of guys are usually limited in terms of how many innings he can pitch. I think it was perfectly reasonable to turn it over to the pen....except that our pen isn't reasonable.

You are right. It does seem that there are some disagreements in management here. Still, someone came to their senses and put Bard back in the pen, at least temporarily. I wonder who won that battle...

Tazawa has pitched in two games. Granted, he has been very effective. I am not sure we can judge this guy based on such a small sample size. IMO he gets an imcomplete; promising, but incomplete. Even if he ends up being excellent for us, how often can you go to the well with him?

When I left the score was 9-1. I come home and find out we lost by SIX RUNS. Unbelievable. One of the worst bullpens in history is ours this year, all ours. Valentine has no resources out there. This franchise has gone downhill very very fast.

No one went to watch Umber. No problem surrendering solo HR there. Gotta throw strikes. He just missed with one. If Doubront can go one more inning I will be happy.
