  1. They had options. Padilla could have been stretched out early on. Germano could have had a shot at it, and Cooke was available until he got hurt. They just left him in there to wilt way too long IMO.
  2. I really could not care less what he wanted. Thats another dysfunctional element of our FO: they cater to what the players want even when its deleterious to the team. They allowed Bard a chance to start, which is fine-but then the screwed with his mechanics, which reduced his velocity, and they allowed the debacle to continue past all understanding. Now he cannot even get back to where he was. Not only won't he get back into the bigs this year, I doubt he will EVER make it back and reach his previous level of effectiveness.
  3. Its not for THIS year McFly. Ellsbury is likely gone when his contract is up anyway. And of we aren't going anywhere this year, then why not plan for next year and the year after that? The only caveat is that we would need a good SP who is under our control for at least a couple of years, and that won't be easy.
  4. Its likely that Bard will never make it back to the ML. Our FO screwed him up pretty good by requiring changes in his mechanics. Now he can't get back to where he was. Then they left him in the rotation way beyond when it was clear that he had failed that experiment. Great job gang!
  5. Dicey DiceK goes tomorrow. Time for him to man up.
  6. The Braves rank 9th in pitching and 4th in runs scored in the NL. If our SP holds out we could be successful against them.
  7. Orioles lose too. All the other ALE teams lost today.
  8. The home plate ump has not lost any of his enthusiasm it seems. He is going to be hoarse by the end of this game.
  9. He never posts during game threads on any forum. Also, he just got back from Chicago. He went there to see those three games.
  10. He hit one ball hard. Got an IF single too.
  11. People around here don't like us to call games over this early, so I guess the right way to phrase it is, "the outcome of this game is no longer in doubt"
  12. Wonder if we will see DMac pitching tonite.
  13. Ortiz can put the game away right now...again.
  14. Every one of those HRs would have been HRs in hell too...none of them were cheap. I wonder if the ball carries more when its humid like that.
  15. Ortiz hit a ball that wasn't even a strike for a HR.
  16. Ortiz DOES put the game away right now.
  17. Ortiz can put this game away right now.
  18. All the other ALE teams either lost or are behind today. Yankees lost, so did the Jays
  19. Yes it is. Contact might be too much to ask too.
