I stand corrected. Thanks. I admit that I am not the best source of information for this kind of thing. It seemed that Aviles' momentum would be the deciding factor, but apparently that is not the case.

I played some baseball, but not past HS. I am not the best source for advice on fundamental baseball, but I am willing to learn.
On that play Aviles' momentum was towards first base. Why was Pedroia on second base when he had his momentum going away from first base. Just asking.
Well he got the "E"; he dropped the ball. Seems like it would have been easier for him to complete the DP than Pedroia because his momentum was toward first base.
He has pitched very well lately, sometimes in long relief. He has the stuff to do well. Had a rough patch, but seems to have overcome it.
Regardless of what SCM says, Maholm does stink. We should have at least six runs against him already.
It was the OF's ball. I agree. But once Pedroia gets his glove on it (and he was there in plenty of time to make the play) then he has to complete the play.
