  1. I wonder if there is the slightest chance that Sandoval's shoulder injury is an apparition, a deflection from the real surgery he is going to have-one to reduce the size of his stomach in an effort to control his weight. Thats not something I would imagine he would like to advertise if it were the case.
  2. Young has been useless. Its not quite time yet to pull the plug on him, but if he remains useless over the next month or so, then he should be excised. Dombrowski has shown that he is willing to do whatever is necessary to win. If that includes removing Young and giving Castillo a shot at the job, I believe he will do just that.
  3. This year is obviously a lost cause. If Sandoval has any professional pride left whatsoever its possible that he could, after surgery, use the time until next spring to get into the best shape of his life. I am not sure he will ever be the player that Shaw is right now, assuming Shaw continues to hammer the baseball and play a solid 3B, but he might because tradeable in the future.
  4. Is there a Sumo wrestling team we could trade him to?
  5. They are both important in my opinion. While its certainly important to treat players with respect (eg: Valentine ) and protect them from undue criticism, in game decision that do not put the players in the best position to win, thats also important. When, for example, Farrell kept ph'ing a slumping Chris Young for Travis Shaw, who is on a tear and in fact hits LHP better than RHP, I think thats not smart. There are many other examples. Furthermore, Farrell's head scratchers are not limited to three weeks this year. He has been team manager for many years, and his style has not improved.
  6. With Bradley out and Olynck and Crowder hurt I think they have overachieved already
  7. Not sure I would rather have Kelly or Owens in there.
  8. That was over two weeks ago....
  9. Remy had a good point: why would they even give Markakis a pitch to hit in that situation? Not smart baseball.
  10. Boegarts has to stay on base until he is called out. Pretty basic, though West is still an idiot
  11. Wow...I have never seen that before. Bogaerts needs to pay attention.
  12. Sure am glad we don't play the WS any time soon.
  13. He will probably stay there until he proves he can hit AAA pitching well. Right now, his OPS at Pawtucket this year is abyssmal: .654 this year and .708 in his two year minor league career. Why on earth would you want to bring him up with those numbers? Doesn't he first have to perform in Pawtucket?
  14. As Usename said, my original link was outdated. Interesting that the Cubs have dropped to #20. Guess their prospects are all up in the bigs now.
  15. Mea culpa. Here is the updated one. The Braves fared much better; we are still #4, just behind the Braves. http://www.baseballamerica.com/minors/organization-talent-rankings-list/#mwXgD1zJD7Ujqh74.97
  16. According to BaseballAmerica the Braves are #15 in 2015 minor league rankings. Guess who is #2.... http://www.baseballamerica.com/majors/2015-organization-talent-rankings/#kR5js8u86F8A3d0h.97
  17. At this rate they are on a pace to hit about 30 HRs for the year.
  18. Its gotta really suck to be a Braves fan. What happened to this franchise?
  19. They have been very good all year. The surprises in the field are Shaw and Hanley. The rest of the guys are all plus defenders.
  20. The White Sox are taking it to the Jays again...3-0 in the 7th.
  21. I don't think what he is doing now is sustainable. If he is still producing like this on July 1 I will change my mind, but I see him more like a .270/.780 hitter. I would take.
  22. Ortiz and Shaw are just on a tear. Very impressive.
