  1. Devers is too anxious up there
  2. Jacko wants the Sox to win so the Yankees don't have to face the Astros.
  3. He looks like the September version of Sale. Too many innings this year.......tired no doubt
  4. I knew Nunez was a liability. He has a posterior cruciate sprain...it takes weeks to heal, maybe 6 weeks. They rushed him back.
  5. According to baseball reference.....
  6. Interesting factoid: Without looking it up, which POSITION player has the highest WAR on the team after Mookie? And which position player on the postseason roster has the LOWEST WAR?
  7. Both Porcello and Fister have had a lot of problems with the first inning....so you almost have to have ERod warming up alongside the SP for a "quick hook" to be useful. Otherwise we could easily be down 3-4 runs by the the time we pick up a bat.
  8. As I wrote elsewhere, I think it would have been much smarter to delay naming the G2 SP until the results of G1 are in. If we win we start Porcello, who has actually pitched well on the road this year and have Pom and Fister or ERod for game 4 after Pom. If we lose, we don't want to be down 2-0 so start Pom in G2. I don't like the way Farrell has set up the team's SPs.
  9. And pictures to prove it.................no..............wait....................never mind.
  10. Steroids or no steroids, I don't want Judge on the Red Sox. I don't want any stinking Yankee on the Red Sox.
  11. Wouldn't Sale be going on three days rest? I don't like that idea, given the number of innings he has pitched this year. We won't likely be getting vintage Sale.
  12. I would leave Nunez off the roster unless he is close to 100%. I would go with Holt and hold my nose.
  13. While I don't think you can justify your statement that the Yankee bullpen is "the deepest of all the teams in the postseason" -I think the Sox with the addition of Price are better, as are the Guardians, I do think that overall, as much as I hate to admit it, the Yankees have a more well rounded team than the Sox do. They are just behind us in overall pitching and much better in hitting; they won the season series from us and have a better run differential than the Sox. I am surprised we finished ahead of them. That said, I hope they lose to the Twins and if that is not possible, I hope they lose to the Guardians as well.
  14. Using "Farrell" and "thinking" in the same sentence is by definition an oxymoron.
  15. If Porcello going to be our #3 (or #4-they would both get one game) maybe he should start game 2, especially if we manage to win game 1. His home/away splits are quite different: 5.43/3.67 ERA and OPSa: .860/.781. Pom could start game 3, ERod game 4. You have to pitch a #3 sometime; why not game 2? Sale will pitch games 1 and 5 (if we get to game 5). Who knows...maybe Porcello still has something left.
  16. Going into the season I thought that the Sox had the best balanced team in the league. With Price, Sale, the reigning Cy Young winner, and Pomeranz I thought our SP was far and away the best in baseball. Add ERod and Wright and we also were deep. Then Betts, Hanley, Bogaerts, and so forth had down years offensively. I for one expected more....I thought they would be able to contend for a ring. Just happy they beat out the Yankees now.
  17. I can't remember....where is he working now?
  18. No, Farrell isn't responsible for our SP putting the team in a consistent and early hole of late, Fister being the exception. However, the guy who is leading the league in home BA wasn't in the lineup last night (Vasquez). Instead Farrell allowed Leon, who is useless with a bat in his hands, to catch. Thats a mistake. I don't much care that Fister wanted Leon. Too bad. We needed runs last night, and every night.
  19. Tough matchup for Benny here
  20. I just want to finish ahead of the Yankees. Both teams are going to lose v Houston or Cleveland, but finishing ahead of the Yankees would make it less painful.
  21. Make that four of his last 8. Four runs or more in each.
  22. Sale has been choking too. I think he has sucked in something like five of his last six starts.
  23. Unfortunately, the opposing pitcher is looking pretty good tonight.
  24. Wouldn't be ironic if FISTER, of all pitchers, pitched the pennant clinching game for us.
