    Exactly. Its beyond me that there are actually paying fans at this game tonight. It would be so fitting if the last home game of the season got boycotted.

    All I can say is that John Henry owes us a public apology. The product on the field tonight is an embarrassment. No hits in five innings. Just wow....

    I propose a new category of troll: the Oblivious Troll. These are trolls who do not even possess the level of introspection to realize that they are trolling. One example is Harmony, who has rarely, if ever, posted a positive comment about the Red Sox and uses every possible opportunity available to put them down. Jacko knows he is trolling IMO but does it anyway, so he is a "self-aware troll". OTs....SATs......I like it.

    Its beyond ugly. Its meaningless and irrelevant. The time for ugly was two months ago.

    Thats what makes this season so (and I will be nice)....disappointing. It IS a good team. They just didn't bother to show up this year. Its a team that should have made the playoffs.

    Not good at all....three runs in less than five innings. If carried out over 9 innings its an ERA of over 6. Nothing to be happy about. An example of why this team sucks this year.

    Its Saltalamacchia....he needs to be fired along with Levangie. How can you keep Levangie?

    Who is this other announcer with OB? He is awful. Worse than listening to the paint dry.

    Henry is not an automaton. Unless his middle name is "Data" emotions and some degree of subjectivity will always affect his decisions. I think he is calculating, but certainly not free from emotions and subjectivity. And unlike Kimmi's stated opinion, I don't think this was a panic move. He just thought it was time for a change, that DD isn't the GM to lead a rebuild.

    Cora also had a bad year. I would give him one more year, but I would not be surprised if they canned him too.

    The "major changes" were inevitable, playoffs or no playoffs. The team simply isn't going to afford to keep the core it has now and add enough players to make them competitive year after year. Betts is going to get paid; Sale and Eovaldi and Bogaerts are already getting paid. The bullpen needs an upgrade; so does the farm system-we cannot trade for marquee players or sign them as FAs forever without an ongoing source of cheap quality labor from our farm system. Now whether the changes had to happen in 2020 or 2021 is up for debate, but eventually they HAD to happen. Like I said, its going to be a sad couple of years for Sox fans I think. Unless you are also a Patriots fan :-)

    I think its more than just about not making the playoffs. I think that the handwriting is on the wall for a rebuild now. DD is not the right guy for a rebuild; he is a destroyer of farm systems. Henry knows that. This is going to be just the tip of the iceberg. Mookie will probably get moved this offseason; we can't afford him. My guess is that Cora gets one more year. If he manages like a brain dead cockroach like he did this year he will be gone the following year. It won't take long to rebuild, maybe a couple of years. But major changes are afoot and its probably not going to be a lot of fun to be a Sox fan for a while.

    On OUR staff he is the ace. I doubt many other teams would look at a guy with an ERA of nearly 4 (3.97) as ace material.

    Now that its over why not let as many minor leaguers as possible get a cup of coffee at the ML level?

    Most prognostications I saw here were in the 90+ win area about two months ago.

    Actually, I am proud for foreseeing the future of this team months ago. While others were mostly irrationally optimistic I saw a team that was going nowhere for many reasons: SPing, not being ready to start the season, playing brain dead baseball too often, managerial mistakes...etc. I am proud of being a realist and seeing that my assessment of this team was correct.
