  1. Last year they had a great chance but in the deciding game against Miami Tatum twisted his ankle on the first play. Barring significant injury they remain the favorites by far.
  2. The Celtics are playing their scrubs tonight and are up 20. They are one of the most dominant teams in NBA history. Much more interesting to watch their scrubs play than the Boston Red Bums. I’ll shut up about the Celtics. We deserve a better baseball team. People do need to stop showing or show up and in unison all stand and turn their backs on the team.
  3. Its going to be like that all year long. This is probably the worst Flops team in decades. They will be lucky to win 60-65 games. But remember: its "full throttle". In reverse.
  4. Remember! “Full throttle”!
  5. Can’t say as I’m a fan of this awful team or of JH. The race to the bottom has almost concluded.
  6. He was yet another awful signing. I also don't like the Rafaela signing. He's anther JBJ. Can't the baseball but decent defensively. I could easily be proven wrong but he has no concept of the strike zone. We are on the way to the bottom. Probably win maybe 65 games this year if we are lucky. Henry needs to sell the team.
  7. "Full throttle" What a joke. Saw some of yesterday's game, including Duran botching a catch in left field and Devers botching a ground ball-leading to unearned runs. SSDD. Same as last year. Crap defense and a bad SP staff. Another last place finish on tap. Henry needs to sell the team.
  8. Take a good look at our record. Could easily be the last time this year we are over .500. I haven't been following the threads here but I am not happy with ownership at all. After declaring that we are going "full throttle" we basically signed no one of significance despite having the money to do so. The obvious need was SPing. We ended up with no one. Another last place finish is highly likely. Henry should sell the team.
  9. Nice that our ST SPing is doing OK. But IMO it would be a miracle if they finished above bottom third in the league. Just wondering what management meant by "going full throttle".....in reverse perhaps?
  10. I'll join you if we don't finish in last place again in the ALE. All the other teams in our division are better than we are. Finishing last is getting very very old
  11. I disagree. If I am looking to buy a baseball team I don't want one with a sky high budget. I want in inexpensive one with a great fan base- a team that I believe I can mold into a winner with an appropriate investment in money and management talent.
  12. Eventually I don't think he will have a choice. Another last place finish this year is likely and its not like we have a plethora of SPs that are worth anything in the minors. I hope that the fans vote this year with their feet and force Henry's hand. We deserve better.
  13. I don't think we get Monty. I think that Henry is planning to sell the team and is reducing budget to make the team a more attractive investment. And I sure hope he succeeds because this team has become a joke.
  14. Do you think that Cora is the only manager to ever condone cheating? My guess is that it happens more frequently than we imagine. He just got caught. He paid his dues for his crime. If he ever gets caught up in any way with cheating-either participating in it or condoning it-he should be banned from the game for life.
  15. You misunderstood Henry. He meant FULL THROTTLE........................in reverse.
  16. I don't think a strong bullpen is going to be of much use when our SP totally sucks. Coming in to relieve a SP who has put the team in a 6-0 hole game after game is a recipe not for a mediocre team but for a team that stinks. We'll see how it all plays out but right now its looking like we are the weakest team in the ALE.
  17. They are saying so.....with their actions. They aren't going to say so in words for the media to digest-ever.
  18. Sure seems that way (running the team like Tampa north). Remember: the Rays finished in the cellar for years and years. They were a joke. Meanwhile the developed their farm system and produced some top tier talent for whom they paid very little. They are also a well run organization, unlike the Red Sox. I am expecting another unwatchable team this year and for many years to come until Henry either sells the team or opens up his purse.
  19. Even if they do mature into stars we STILL don't have the SPing nor, apparently, the will and the wallet to correct that. The only language Henry will understand is EMPTY SEATS at the park. When Fenway starts to look like the Trop as far as attendance goes he will get it.
  20. I was more referring to SPing, but you are right: those relievers are certainly decent. That said, RPs are a dime a dozen out there. We have Bello as a good SP. Beyond that there is basically no one dependable. And I don't see us getting anyone this year=we will suck again and finish in LAST PLACE AGAIN. Henry needs to sell the team. Its obvious that his commitment to winning is gone.
  21. We such because NOT ONLY has Henry turned cheapskate but also because our farm system has not produced any pitchers of note (aside from Bello) for years. Can't win without good pitching. Its going to be another stinker of a year and the worst part is that there is no end in sight.
  22. And on January 8 every other ALE team is better than us. I recognize the fact that its not a finished product but clearly we are not off to a good start in terms of acquiring the kind of talent we need to compete in our division.
  23. As the team is now constructed every other ALE team is better than we are. Henry may have already given up on this season.
  24. One guy is not "the management". Obviously he didn't get the job done without the rest of his Tampa management team to help him out.
  25. Yamamoto has the pedigree to be a top line SP. We were never even in on him. Snell would certainly be an improvement over what we now have. Lets see if we can snag him or if Henry will continue to tight wad the team.
