  1. Not only is the starting rotation going to have a complete makeover but the bullpen is as well. I'd like to see some of the young guys get opportunities to see what they can do to see how many new arms is needed. Ross, Breslow, and Ogando are done. DFA all of them. I think we will see a trade come at the waiver deadline to add depth the the bullpen atleast. I wonder if Ben could swing a deal while the Padres for Kimberly and Ross in one deal. Their were reports that the Sox were in on Craig and Tyron at the non waiver deadline so it may happen who knows. It would definitely be a bust for confidence for never year. Let Kimbrel close and Koji and Taz set him up. That would take stress and might help keep both healthy and not get as much arm fatigue down the stretch if the Sox are close to being in it next year. But that is a definite pipe dream tho.
  2. I would like to see Dave brought in but I think they will stick with Ben and the Angels or Blue Jays will end up with Dombrowski
  3. Who would you split time there? I would go after Chris Davis and add power to the lineup and have the everyday 1B for years to come. But if his asking price is too high. Move Hanley to 1B full time and make a trade for CarGo and put him in RF and Castillo in LF and Betts in center. This lineup needs some more power in it next year. CarGo was dangled at the deadline so he is available. I know pitching is first and foremost on the to do list but this lineup needs outfield power if Hanley gets moved to the infield but if they leave him in LF which I think everyone thinks is a mistake I'd hope they atleast make a run after Crush Davis to hold down 1B.
  4. Report says Hanley wants to stay in LF for 2016. Well then who the f*** plays 1B? Trade? FA? Someone from within?
  5. The Dodgers are making moves and are still in the hunt for more pitching... the Yankees are said to be in on Price too... I see no matter who gets him unless it's the Cubs because I'd say that's where he goes in the offseason.
  6. Cole Hamels is heading to the Rangers. Now what? Wait for it... Yep User Name is about to say "f*** Yeah now he's not coming here!!!"
  7. Good move trading Vic and letting Castillo have regular playing time the rest of the year. Now we need to trade Napoli to the Pirates to clear the way for Hanley to get time there to see if he can handle it or if it will have to address it in the offseason.
  8. Report out that Blue Jays were close to obtaining Carrasco. The Sox have a strong farm I'd think they could snag him since the Guardians are listening then Sox should pounce.
  9. Yes it would, but I think Papi picks up his player option and trys it one more season and if they finish last he will be done. It wouldn't surprise me if he announces in the offseason that 2016 will be his last and has a final year like Rivera had in his last. And just be done anyways. He will probably be the next Red Sox hitting coach anyways.
  10. Yes I think that if Tito could spin a trade for Pedoria he could persuade the FO to make that trade with the Red Sox.
  11. I disagree totally that we don't have the pieces to get a deal for one of those pitchers. I'd have a package headlined with Pedoria and a couple other prospects and get it done.
  12. I'd trade him in a heart beat and let him go to the Guardians so he can suck on Tito's cock some more if they give us some young pitchers back. We have Betts and options in the minors to fill the void left by Pedoria. A World Series in the future isnt gonna be won by DP heart who is hurt more often than not, it's gonna be won by damn good pitching and we don't have that. I'd open the gate a let him go like we did Nomar.
  13. Id say either Kluber or Carrasco would cost about the same amount in terms of prospects. I'd rather have Carrasco than Kluber myself. And I've seen that the Red Sox have inquired on Guardians pitchers. How many and who do you think it would take to get the deal done for either or if I deal were to be made with the Guardians User?
  14. I would think the Dodgers would be the team most aggressive with going after Hamels. They let Greinke walk and have Cole who will be cheaper. That's just my thinking.
  15. I understand that User and I think if the Sox were to move a haul of propects it should be for a controlable pitchers like blow the Guardians away for their former CY young winner. He would be worth the prospects instead of Hamels. But I think the FO want Hamels and they will move on him. The Rangers are said to be in hard talks but I'd think Boston has more appeal to Cole than Texas.
  16. I think if two Ace caliber pitchers are brought in and Porcello can be in the #3 or #4 slot in the rotation I think he can come around. We have all said and I agree that we need two pitchers to top the front end but what does that do with Rodriguez? And what if Johnson starts pitching good from now to the end of the season? Also what about Henry Ownes? I'm assuming he will come up in September and we finally see what he's got. Bucholtz option will be picked up, and then you have Miley and Porcello so there's 3 with one of the young kids atleast being the 6th option if anyone gets hurt. You can never have enough pitching so who do most of you think the 2 front of the rotation starters are gonna be? I'm still saying Hamels now at the deadline and I think some how they swing another trade in the offseason for a younger Ace like Sonny Gray and stay away from the free agent class next offseason. Even when Billy Bean says a player is not available he is still available if you have the right prospects. No one is safe in Oakland.
  17. Hitless thru 8 now.
  18. A Kalper type would be idea for this group of youngsters. I would like to see Craig get his head straight and start hitting the ball. He would be a great asset to have next year to play outfield and 1B with more power than Nava. But that's a wait and see. As far as pitching goes last I looked Hamels was hitless thru 7 innings. So I'd say his stock is rises. I think the Red Sox will move on him soon. Simple fact the Phillies don't want him in a Dodger uniform plain and simple.
  19. What would you do with the outfield User? With Hanley in the infield and Vic gone and Craig in the minors and not time coming up anytime soon to take 1B. I see a lot of lack of power in the outfield. Betts is starting to grow on me leading off but that's a different topic all together. So it comes down to Betts, Castillo, JBJ, Nava & Craig plus Holt because he can play anywhere. Would you stay in house or bring in someone or two new guys to fill the corner spots?
  20. In what direction does the Sox go with 1B? Do they sign a free agent? Do they move Hanley to the infield and either he or Panda play 1B? Or lastly do they resign Nap? I would add bring someone up from the farm but I don't think we have anymore Anthony Rizzo types on the farm so I'd say that option is out. I'd say they move Panda to first and Hanley to 3rd. Panda looks like he's gained weight all season and if he keeps swelling up I'd rather the FO move him to someone to get pitching. I know he got mad when San Francisco said someone to him about his weight but s***. His weight has gotten so outta control he can't swing the bat but from one side now it's sad. So all that being said, with Hanley in the infield what does that mean for the outfield? Betts and Holt are options a long with Castillo if he can hit and stay healthy. Plus JBJ as the best defensive option. Id say they add one more piece to that mix via a free agent. By it being a trade for a platoon type or a an everyday player I really don't see a splash out their just a solid defensive option that can hold Avg numbers at the plate. A low key under the radar move. This offseason the only splashes need to be made in the rotation or the fans will have the FO's heads.
  21. Since Cespedes is back on the block does anyone think they can trade back for him to add spark to the struggling lineup? I know he is planning on testing free agency so if the price is too high I'd say not to do it. But plug him into LF and put Hanley at 3rd or 1st and Napoli on the bench would help this offense.
  22. Ellsbury - 37 GP 14 SB T-11 in league Betts - 72 GP 12 SB T-19 in league Twice as many games played, younger and a higher BA than Ellsbury he should have more SB but he doesnt. I honestly think he shoulda been moved for pitching a long time ago but that's just me. I just don't see where he is the long term answer in CF in Boston. A more elite 5 tool player should be slotted into the lead off spot.
  23. The rotation is definitely gonna have to be revamped either now at the trade deadline or in FA signings next offseason. Everyone knows that and I'm sure it will be addressed in a big way, hell it has to be this is Boston last doesn't work here. But I think that the leadoff spot has hurt this club ever since Ellsbury left. The club hasn't had that true leadoff guy and the offense has struggled since. They just don't have an identity at the top leadoff spot. With a player like Ellsbury who can work a count get on base and be in the back of the pitcher's mind if he's gonna swipe 2nd on the next pitch was big for this club. I think in this offseason or at the deadline the FO needs to address the OF situation by finding a guy with speed on the bases and elite defense for the spacious outfield of Fenway who can work the count and solidify the leadoff spot for the next couple of years.
