  1. Great so now he walks into Fenway at a slim & trim 300lbs. He also gains weigh during the season always has and probably always will. Josh Hamilton had a guy going around with him so he didn't get wasted and do a line of cocaine off a strippers tits, why can't we have a guy go around with Pablo and make sure he don't eat pizza, KFC, & Taco Bell all day everyday.
  2. I honestly thought a move of Pablo for Shields would be the best move and that both teams would get the deal done. Even if the Sox eat some of Pablo's salary and take on all of Sheilds it would still be a win in my book. You get an innings eater who has experience in the AL east and it allows you to move Hanley to 3rd and put Shaw or another big bat at 1st. It solves so many problems and takes a lot of worries away about Hanley play 1B. Price Shields E-rod Bucholtz Porcello Owens, Kelly, & Johnson as depth The young core stays together and move bad contract for bad contract it's a win win
  3. Reports are they are still in on Iwakuma just trying to rework the deal. And it seems they are talking with the Rays to swing a trade.
  4. If Cueto would sign here and leave money on the table to not sign with the Dodgers that would surprise me. The Dodgers are in panic mode now that Greinke went to AZ and Cueto is projected the third best FA pitcher and is available so the Dodgers will have to go all in on him. Also the Yankees and Nats are probably real contenders to land him. I'd rather John Henry throw money at Cueto this year with an opt out and have a back loaded contract with an elbow and shoulder clause, hell give him full no trade if he throws in the injury clause like Lackey signed here. 6/140 would get him. Bucholtz will probably come off the books next year unless he pitches like the healthy Buch so if DD can conveince Henry to spend I think we have made a complete 180.
  5. The recreation of Mo Vaughn at Fenway. If DD could make that swap it would solve alot of issues.
  6. I think it may be time to drop Pedoria down the lineup. Farrell likes having Papi's bat in the 1st inning and Betts and Bogey are the the better 1 & 2 in the order. That being said I don't think it will happen Peddy will be 2nd and Ortiz probably 3rd for Papi's Farewell tour. I still say the everyday lineup looks a lil to RH.
  7. I was assuming with Cespedes in fold that JBJ would be the expandable OF. So it would be 7 of 9. Because Betts for talent and Castillo for contract ain't moving so JBJ even with his gold glove potential defense is the odd man out if Cespedes is signed to play LF. I haven't seen much on Lee's arm tendon status. Is he good to go or is he a Tommy John Surgery and career ending useless contract waiting g to happen. I seen that Lincecum is gonna hold a showing in January to show that hip is fine. I honestly like Henderson Alvarez from the Marlins. I know he has shoulder concerns but before last season he was awesome. And was just non tendered so why not take a shot with him. He would cost far less and higher upside than Lee or Lincecum who are on their way out.
  8. I don't think another RH bat is needed in this lineup. Cespedes is definite a power bat and would love to have him and a contract around to what Hanley got last year is what he will probably get, some think his value exploded after the World Series but I think a month later when teams are looking at the big picture he will be right around Hanley's deal. As it sits now we are a very RH team. Betts, Bogey, Pedoria, Hanley, Vaz, & Castillo. Add Cespedes and that's 7 out of nine that hit from the right side with Fat Boy and Papi from the left. I just read an article where Henry said he would like to add another arm but not moving core young pitchers. He said nothing about position players. So I'd say the Winter Meetings will see Cespedes go off the board along with Davis within the first two days and with all the power off the board I could see the focus move back to the rotation and bullpen. We still need a shut down LHP out of the pen along with maybe another starting pitcher. I like the idea of going after the Guardians arms but if Tito and company wont let one go then with the current rotation is ok until the All Star break when Bucholtz breaks down. So a pitcher like Cliff Lee, Tim Lincecum, Henderson Alvarez, or one of Tampa Bays young arms which apparently all other than Archer are being shopped. Other than the young boys throw Lee or Lincecum a one year deal and see if you can get fire in a bottle. I think the Sox are in a position of strength now heading into the Winter Meetings. They got their Ace, Bullpen Help, & 4th OF. So any move DD makes is just an added Bonus.
  9. I agree I was just saying that if DD were to move 3 decent/good prospects I would look to a guy like Wacha. I just don't see Miller being that much better of a pitcher than the up and coming guys we have on the farm. I would rather sign a guy like Lackey on a one year deal with an mutual option for a second. If a deal for Sheilds involving Panda close to straight up would be a bad for bad contract to get us another upper tier pitcher. Move Hanley to 3rd/DH on Papi off days. Let Shaw play 1st. It wouldn't surprise me if Hanley is moved within the next couple weeks. And then the Sox make a run at Davis. But that is a pipe dream. It's just been a good offseason so far and I can't wait for opening day. Also is any news that Joe Kelly is willing to move to the bullpen? I think he could become another Wade Davis for us if he would be willing to move.
  10. If DD was prepared to give up a package of Owens, Barnes, & Devers I would hope he would look to St Louis and land Michael Wacha instead of Shelby Miller. If you are gonna move prospects shoot for the moon.
  11. With the rumblings out of Oakland that Reddick may be available, I'd like to see a 3 team trade with the Mariners & A's to send JBJ to Seattle and Reddick coming back to Beantown. CarGo would be the ultimate piece but I don't see that happening. I know that JBJ is the better defender but I just don't think he will hit for average in the majors. So now is the time to move him with his stock high. But if he does stay in Boston I won't bitch because he may win the gold glove next year in either CF or RF wherever they play him
  12. I honestly don't think any moves will make people on this board happy as a collective whole. If we win the World Series next year someone would bitch that we didn't do it right.
  13. I agree that I think they sign O'Day in the very near future. Who do they add as the LHP out of the pen? I think if a complete makeover is happening a lefty pieces needs added to the overhaul.
  14. Interesting to see what the moving pieces in this deal wI'll be... it will probably set the standard for this offseason reliever trades
  15. Agreed. I'm currently watching this Game 5 and the more and more he pitches the more I'd love to see him in Boston as our ace. I'd rather have him than Price. No matter the players required to get him and the potential departure in FA in years to come with him being a Boras client and the scare on his elbow i'd want him. If he's in dangled by the Mets I'd hope the FO jumps on a deal.
  16. Ruben Amaro Jr to be Red Sox 1st Base Coach in 2016. After being a GM I honestly don't understand this move on his behalf.
  17. Yes this horse has been beaten to death. Conclusion: Some would some wouldn't... many arguments no true winner What's gonna happen: DD is gonna do whatever he wants to help this team to get the must needed ace. People will praise some people will bitch
  18. I hope DD and the front office shoots for the moon on Price and land him. Whatever it takes. I know it's probably gonna be a bad contract in the later years but oh well. With all the young talent I wouldn't move it. I'd sign Price to be the #1 and then let the guys from last year fill out the rotation. Bucholtz option gets picked up with maybe Owens spot starting for him to help his innings down so he don't flame out like years past. Hope that Kelly would come to terms and be our Wade Davis and let Taz pitch either the 7th or 8th. With a healthy Koji and maybe a trade for another closer in the event if bullpen injury along with some more bullpen arms I don't see this as a total rebuild of the rotation but the bullpen needs major help. Price Harvey Owens Bucholtz Miley Trade E-rod to the Mets along with two position prospects and maybe a pitching prospect would get it done. If either Vazquez or Swihart is included in the deal I'd say let it roll to get the rotation that the Sox has needed for years. The 1B situation is gonna be the most interesting this offseason in my opinion. If Hanley is moved due to the fact he don't want to be here or is unwilling to play 1B then a power bat is needed to plug in the lineup after Papi. We all know that DD will get pitchers I think everyone who knows anything about baseball knows that is a given. But the most interesting thing this winter in the Hot Stove us what DD will do at 1b.
  19. MLB trade rumors is projecting Price to recieve a $200M+ contract at 7yrs He wants more than Kershaw money. I love Price but I don't think he is worth that. At 30yr old and all the innings on his arm at that amount he would be a bust. And we don't want a CC situation in Boston. A trade for a Harvey, Sale, or Gray would be more idea. And I would clear the farm for any of them to be the ace. But it will be interesting to see what DD does and what direction the team goes in the future.
  20. I just wonder who would want to be our GM when they know that Dombrowski is gonna make most of the calls and the final say? I thought that this would be an extremely sought after GM job but the more I think about it the more I think that most people don't want to have someone over their shoulder making all the calls and they just have a title of GM. I'd say we get an internal option without a lot of GM experience or a close friend of DD who don't care to be a scapegoat in the whole messed up Boston FO next year. If Boston comes out of the gate next year struggling, no matter the offseason moves, the media will call for DD's head and not mention the GM. And I think that everyone on this forum knows that and everyone applying for the Red Sox GM knows that. It will be interesting to see who takes the job.
  21. Why are they leaving this fat f*** in to give up the winning base hit? Pull this mother f***er Just dumb
  22. He can't throw a strike to save his life.
  23. Well f***!!! If we lose this game DFA fat panda look-a-like
  24. It's like a fat Pablo look-a-like pitching it's hard to watch.
