  1. The whole team wearing #6 in honor of Mr. Pesky is one of the few things the Sox have done right this season. Another positive from last night is the $pankees lost last night. Wouldn't it be great is TB caught them and they had to play that one game Wild Card game. How many days till pitchers and catchers?
  2. I think Bogaerts is the real deal. He is tearing up AA against guys who have more experience then him. If SS has been such a hole since Nomar I don't understand all this talk about moving him. Keep him at short and solve the problem once ans for all. They have played Aviles at short in 2012. This kid is projected to be much better with the bat, and his defense projects that poorly? If he keeps it up at AA he will be at AAA in 2013. He is my number one prospect right now in the system.
  3. Another different lineup tonight. I just realized with CC going under the knife tomorrow that the whole 2012 season will be played and not once were the Sox able to field their true starting fielders. Hopefully, the answers for 2013 can be found out as we play out the string here in 2012. Go Sox!
  4. The $pankees can afford to make mistakes like this. They will dump and eat $$$$ if they have to like they did with Burnett. Thats what they do. No other team in baseball can do that. Look at the Phillies and Sox (2 and 3 in salaries), they are at their limits with salaries and can't afford to throw $$$ at the problems (Ichiro). I wouldn't be surprise if Pineda never pitches for $panks.
  5. What is Lobol No Wok a $pankees fan. If that is the case then to him McClure did a great job for the Sox. Don't you always here coaches say you play with the players you have and it is a waste of time hoping for this player or that player.
  6. If Clemens is doing the Farve thing, does that means we can expect Roger to take pictures of his junk in the near future. When I first heard that he was making a come back I didn't hear with who, I was hoping that it was to replace Big CC with the $panks. I could see the $panks giving him 10 million for the rest of the year. It only money to them.
  7. Its funny that despite living behind the enemy lines in Jersey I found out about it (Pineda's DUI) here last night. After this weekend and the New York media loving all of are problems that we are having they were a little quiet with this one. This is why I hate the $pankees. They are the only team that can make a mistake (Possibly this trade) like this and just go out and spend even more money getting someone else. They can throw $$$$ at any problem they have and buy a championship. The year they win the whole thing and not have the highest payroll is the day I will say they won it and not bought it. With that said, last night was a good night, the $pankees lost and the Sox didn't. Did you ever notice that on days that happens the air smells better, the food taste better, and the water is better.
  8. Moving Bard to rotation was a FO decision and I don't think Bobby V was really behind this one. Read somewhere that McClure had done it during his career and would be a big help to Bard going through the process. We saw how that turned out. Throw in the seasons that Beckett and Lester have had and McClure had to go. For McClure to not get one of those three back on track is the reason why he is playing golf the rest of the summer. The only way the Red Sox start the process of fixing this is to settle on a manager (Everyone behind the decision) and let that guy pick his own coaches that he is comfortable working with. Its a long season and a manager has to depend on his coaches for so much. Got to fix the head (Coaching staff) before you can fix the body (Players).
  9. An we got stuck with Dice-K !
  10. Since the Sox will be home in October I become a fan of who ever is playing the $panks. I like seeing some new teams do well (Pirates or Nats). The bottom line is I pull for who ever is playing the $pankies. They say life is to short to hate, but not when it against the $panks.
  11. This is either the owner of the Skeeters (Aren't they spraying for those in Texas) looking to put buts in some empty seats, owns stock in PEDs, or lost a bet to Clemons. Roger the rat doesn't know when it is time to just get out of the public eye.
  12. Will have to eat some money if they hope to trade Beckett. Why would the Marlins bring in Beckett when they started clearing $$$$ already from their salaries at the trading deadline. They would be interested in major league ready talent on the cheap. Read an interesting rumor about the Angels swaping a bad contract (Vernon Wells) for Red Sox bad contract (Lackey). I don't know if two negatives would make a positive. Something to think about going into the off season.
  13. Good call with this one. Why they forced this hire on Bobby I don't know. A good pitching coach will go along way in fixing the pitching problem. We took for granted when Farrell was here.
  14. Former Spanky Jimmy Leyritz was also involved in a drunken driving incident in 2007 in Florida. The other driver had also been drinking and was killed (not wearing seat belt). Some of these guys think the laws don't apply to them. This Pineda trade is looking better and better. Nice trade Cash.
  15. The stuff I'm reading is pointing the finger at Shoppach even though he is denying it (Daily News). If the stories are true about him being a problem in the club house then it might very well be him. Also, reading that McClure got fired. Its possible that a coach could be the snitch. It would make sence, FO is responsible for retaining some of these coaches maybe to keep an eye on Bobby and report back to them. It was strange that a veteran manager coming in was not allowed to pick all of his coaches. If some of the coaches he was stuck with, that where loyal to Tito, and don't like Bobby might be a pain in his ass. The starting pitching has been a problem, and McClure and Bobby weren't to well together.
  16. A pitcher is not an ace in my book until they do it in the plyoffs. Its the guy you wouldn't hesitate giving the ball to in a game 7. Pedro, Schill, and Beckett in 2007 are the last aces the Sox have had.
  17. Fan since 1975 1975 season got me hooked Laser show (Played second base in high school so always follow that position) Yaz is favorite Sox of all time Clemens is least favorite for a variety of reasons Live behind enemy lines in New Jersey 2004 playoff come back against Evil Empire is greatest Sox moment Saw Fenway for the first time in 2005 Dislike anyone who puts the Spanky uniform on (Chances are they bought him) I hate the Yankees!
  18. Going 3 and 5 against Twins and Tribe spelled the realistic end of 2012. If they had a run this should have been a minimum of 6 and 2. I'm a Diehard and will continue to follow, but need to start looking to 2013.
  19. GM Cher has to step up like the guy in Washington when he said it will be his decision when to shut down the kid pitcher.Cher should have done that with CC. If he is running the ship that is the way it should have been done. Take the presure off of CC and his worry about the back lash of the fans and make the decision to get this taken care of. Can't move CC anyway with the elbow problem so why not get healthy for 2013.
  20. Be realistic, if the season is over CC should get this taken care of to be ready for 2013. If you wait then your asking for another 2012. This guy can't get a break.
  21. If you are realistic and admit 2012 baseball season is over and start to look at 2013 there are a lot of things you can find out. If Lavarnway is the future then play him a lot. I agree Aviles is not the answer at short. Iglesias hasn't hit at AAA. I say play Ciriaco a lot down the stretch and see what you have. If you are not going to make the playoffs at least you can find out if you might have the solutions to two of our weak spots. Worse case you find out you need a catcher and a SS. To me Lavarnway has improved his defense and Ciraco is a pain to play against. Let him play to see what he can do. If CC has his elbow taken care of (now) should be ready by spring, Ellsbury don't trade unless you can get a front line starter, Ross in a platoon in right, the rest of the infield is set , and I don't think Ortiz leaves. The starting pitching has been the problem and will continue to be a problem unless bold moves are made.
  22. I live behind enemy lines and the New York media is eating this sh__ up. The Daily News had several articles on team turmoil. Now the Sox hired Valentine because he was the anti-Tito. The media from day one said that he wouldn't last and their coverage is bias that way. They want Bobby-V gone so they can say we told you so. Based on what has gone on this year: He has not had the set daily line up all year, lost his closer in March, and the top two pitchers in rotation have been terrible most of the year. Add on top of that the stuff that has been leaked to the media. All teams have their clubhouse problems during the season, the only difference is that for most teams it doesn't end up in the papers. Now granted Bobby-V sometimes adds fuel to the fire by running his mouth. Now despite that the team is still around .500. The News also had an article that said Shoppach was behind the text. The bottom line is the New York media is laughing at the Nation right now. It makes living behind enemy lines pretty tough.
  23. This guy can't catch a break. Based on August's record and no signs pointing at the Sox making a run I say shut him down and get this taken care of. Everything I have heard is that CC is a hard worker and that makes the 6 months more realilistic then 8 months for rehab. If you go by that it would make him ready for spring training. A heavy CC for 2013 is what is best for the Sox. Its a shame because he was starting to hit and steal some bases.
  24. Good lefties are hard to find. When right I think Lester is one of these. He is still young and he someone the Red Sox have developed in their system. Is scheduled to make a 11.6 in 2013 (bargain at today's rate) and I don't think it would be wise to move him. If you get him right and Buchholtz is healthy that is a decent top of the rotation.
  25. Looks like it is going to have to be one of those games the Red Sox win 10 to 8. That is going to be tough based on who the Spanks are throwing tonight.
