    The Sox lack of offensive against lefties since the All-Star break mean that they need to get another right handed threat in the lineup. That means either Bogaerts or WMB has to be in the lineup at 3B moving forward. When you have the likes on B. Chen shutting you down something has to be changed.

    I think the Sox have gotten their value out of Victorino this season. He has to be one of the best defensive RF in baseball, and has done well hitting in the two hole. Plus he is another one of those good clubhouse guys the Sox signed last off season. Having played in Philadelphia you kind of knew the bright lights of Boston weren't going to effect him.

    The Sox collapse in 2011 seemed to effect Bard personally. The loss of mph and the lack of command led to Bard's loss of effectiveness. I think he gets one more shot next season in the spring and if he can't find the magic again his days in Boston could be over. The Sox are going to start having a lot of young prospects that they will have to put on the 40 man roster and an ineffective Bard will have no place.

    Iggy no longer was the Sox SS of the future as Bogaerts kept proving himself at every level he played at. I think if he stays healthy he will be on par with Nomar.

    Sox will offer Ellsbury a contract that will not be agreed upon by Boras. The better Ellsbury plays in 2013 the better for the Sox this season, but worse for them and the return of Ellsbury. Unless he takes less to stay in Boston I can't see him coming back. JBJ rea will start next season.

    I think the Holt-Synder platoon is coming to an end. They have both come back to earth and the time to bring up WMB or Bogaerts is near. With WMB there is always the threat to go yard, and with Bogaerts you could get what the O's got out of their kid 3B.

    Teixeira use the Sox to get more $$$$ from the $pankees because he had no intentions of playing in Boston. I am glad that signing never took place, and that the Sox didn't make the trade for A-Rod. Remember that could have happened. Now the $panks are dealing with these two headache contracts. All of the $$$ they spent on these two contracts and they could only buy the one championship.

    Don't think the Sox will be in on any waiver trades. I think any changes to the roster will come from within. C- Ross is not to far away, 3B - Either WMB or Bogaerts as the current platoon has finally ran its coarse, P - The return of Buchholtz to the staff.

    The Sox are not being hurt by the Holt/Snyder platoon right now so there is no rush to bring up Bogaerts. I don't think you will see WMB until September unless Drew gets hurt. The need to have a back up SS will keep him there.

    Reminds me of the great Sox rally game in Fever Pitch that Fallon's character missed. I'm sure a lot of Sox fans turned in when the Sox went down 7-1 and King Felix still in the game. I for one was shocked this morning when I saw the score. There is something special about this team.

    I guess the big key with Peavy is if healthy. He has the good track record when he is healthy and we can only hope the Sox get this.

    The Sox needed another arm in the pen after the marathon the other night and Wright served that purpose. He came up big by shutting the M's down for three innings. Probably see Workman back in 10 days to help the Sox in the pen or to replace Dempster in the rotation as I've heard that he has been dealing with a lingering injury.

    I kind of agree with this reasoning. The Sox have their own potential Stanton with Bogaerts who plays the most important defensive position. If you look at the top prospects in the system and only a third of them reach their potential then the Sox are going to be in contention for awhile. What if you trade most of your top prospects to get Stanton and he becomes one of those players who can not play under the bright lights of Boston? I like the kid as a player, but don't want to sell the farm to get him.

    Last nights game was like the game in Fever Pitch when Jimmy Fallon's character misses that great Sox ninth inning rally. I too missed the great Sox rally having stopped watching the game with the Sox down 7-1 and King Felix still in the game. This was the baseball gods pay back for Monday. This team is starting to remind me more and more of the "Idiots".

    Unless all three of those low end prospects become All-Stars the Sox filled a big need in the rotation and gave up an all glove no hit SS that the Sox have Bogaerts to step in 2014.

    The Sox have too many teams below them to get anything that doesn't have a huge contract attached to it.

    I think the Sox view Workman the rest of this season as a power righty in the pen that could give you multiply innings and as a safety net for the starting rotation if the injury bug strikes the Sox. Holt was brought up ahead of Middlebrooks because he can play SS. If they would have brought up WMB then they had no back up for Drew.

    "Monkeys in the Jungle" came up big last night. He has been steady with the glove and I have more confidence with him up then I did with Iggy.

    There are twenty something other teams who would claim in a heart beat. Sox won't worry about 2014 1B until this winter.

    I think both Bogaerts and Owens will be big time players so I can't see moving them plus other top prospects for one player. Besides the Rangers call every week and the Marlins response is go take a hike. He is not going to be traded until Miami feels he no longer fits in their budget.

    Iglesias started to come back down to earth after an un-Iggy offensive start to the season. The Sox traded him with his value at the highest, and with a few prospects rated higher then him in the system who they believe are better options at SS.

    Sox may now have enough SP to get to the playoffs, but they need a healthy Buchholtz to do anything in the playoffs. Peavy no longer is an ace, but he is good pitcher that when healthy I think he is going to give you 6 to 7 innings per start and keep you in the game. Buchholtz at the beginning of the season was lights out like Price was against us on July 24 and 29, and that's who the Sox need taking the ball in game one of a playoff series. If Lester is back to form, then Peavy, and Lackey as your four that would be though in a series. You take a healthy Buchholtz out of the mix and it starts to become a little shaky. I can't see a deep run in the playoffs without a healthy Buchholtz. I hope I'm wrong, but I don't think I am.

    Lowrie has a great bat, but he can't stay on the field. I think when its all said done we will talking about Bogaerts the way we talked about Nomar.

    Peavy has pitched well of late which is what you really want to look at. Price is a perfect example of that. If you look at his season stats they are not impressive, but you saw what he did to the Sox. Since the All-Star break a healthy Price has been lights out. Buchholtz is the opposite. If you look at his season stats they look great, but he hasn't pitched since June and no one knows when or if he is coming back. Peavy has pitched well of late and I think as long as he remains healthy it will be a positive for the Sox. I believe it is what a pitcher has done in their last 4 or 5 starts is what you have to look at.
