  1. Another strong outing for Owens. Most people thought that Rodriguez would not remain in the rotation but would be shipped back to Pawtucket. Didn't happen. I don't know what is going on with Johnson. Wright is going to get another shot and I don't think Owens will be far behind.
  2. IF he would make the move peacefully to the bullpen, I think that he could be a big difference maker.
  3. Doesn't have to be Owens. He would not be my first choice. Actually I would have him behind Wright and Johnson(if Johnson's ok)
  4. We have seen Kelly's act long enough. You might be right - you might be wrong but the same old tired act sucks.
  5. These are the common sense moves. If Ramirez would move to first willingly, it just seems like the right thing to do. Does the organization have what it takes to make the moves?
  6. He has been better of late. Walked 6 in his last 26. Not great and he may not be as ready as some one would like him to be but he still is a better option than Masterson for sure. I don't think that he will ever be great but better than what we are currently getting from Porcello, Masterson, and Kelly when he is there.
  7. Buccholz - Rodriguez-Miley-(pick) one -Wright, Johnson, Owens-Porcello holds down the number 5 spot for a while. Masterson goes to the pen or is released outright.
  8. I have to tell you that I agree with much of what you have written. I don't get it. It is obvious. guess it is just not our money.
  9. There is no way Ramirez would move to first base. Unfortunate but that has already been discussed.
  10. My favorites at their best - Koufax - Gibson- Clemons-Pedro (number 4 for me but the only one who gets the first name call)
  11. Either release Masterson or give him one last look in the bullpen. Kelly could make a nice addition to the pen but getting him to buy into that might be an issue. Find out if he is a team player or not. These two guys are so easily replaceable.
  12. Kelly pitched last night in Pawtucket. He could have helped us in the bullpen last night. We all know that ain't happening.
  13. Bad fan here I think - I'm sick of seeing Napoli flail away day after day and the prospect of seeing Victorino and Nava back on the roster doesn't do anything for me. Also, when does someone tell Breslow that his ship has sailed. The other options might not be great but something different might be better to watch.
  14. I think that I am at the point where the coaching is starting to bug me. I'm not really sure a coach should be held accountable for a ml player not knowing the count though. That is a joke and it's on Ramirez. I wonder what he would do for a living if he couldn't hit? I just don't like the way they handle certain situations. I felt that he left both Layne and Barnes in a little longer than he should have. It is a team that is very reluctant to sit a veteran down but very quick to throw a player just called up into the fire. I also think that they have some pretty good bullpen options that they aren't even considering. With this current starting rotation, if they are not going to move any of them to the pen, I think that I would at least like to see Johnson and Wright back on the roster. I don't see what else they have to prove. Do they stay in Pawtucket forever? Other than out the door, is there really any other place for Kelly or Masterson. i really think that the time for some major changes is coming.
  15. Currently they are stuck with Ramirez in left field. In another year , not so much. I understand him not wanting to transition to another position this year but not next. More tough decisions are going to have to be made. First base, third base, or dh but never again in left field.
  16. I don't think that they are that far away either. My wish list would include a proven top of the rotation starter for one. The heat would be off Porcello - who could become that 4 or 5 again - his comfort zone. I would also like to see them put 3 players in the outfield who can catch and throw on a regular basis.
  17. Since once again it does appear that their budget knows no restraint, I imagine it was a risk worth taking to lockup both Porcello and Miley. Wonder how Bucholtz feels about his contract right about now. Betts and Bogaerts and Rodriguez still make them a team worth watching.
  18. Come on Count - Give me some of your "quantifiable "evidence on this one.
  19. Come on Dracul, are you still chumming those waters. You are better than this. You have baffled many with your ********. This s*** with Porcello is your weakest yet. Crank it up a notch or try to be an actual human being for a little while.
  20. Might be right although he has been pitching better lately. I don't know how an early move up would affect him. A steady dose of Porcello, and Masterson is only going to last so long. The Red Sox have no issue when it comes to moving players from one position to another. Leon throws harder than Masterson - maybe he could pitch.
  21. I wouldn't call it a dilemma by any means but at some point you have to at least take a look at Johnson, Owens, and Wright once again. I don't think that Trey Ball is even in the conversation. It is a good problem to have I guess.
  22. Nice job for Owens last night. Buccholtz- Rodriguez-Johnson-Wright-Owens-
  23. Canadian Ace purchased in one gallon containers and Bohemium National were hardly drinkable but affordable back in the day. Used to have to worry about affordability a few years ago.
  24. They are young and they are showing great promise for sure. As the stakes get hire, and the players get better, we will have to see how they do. I really do wish that we had at least one very solid looking arm in the group of youngsters.
  25. I think that you are right here. he gets a chance. If he hits for contact, he stands a chance of making it. Personally, I really hope that he does.
