  1. There is no question about that in my mind. The ball he hit about as far as you can one without having it go out last night still looked to me like his swing was cramped.
  2. I don't disagree with you really at all but I have complained about his streaky hitting for years now and I know that I am not alone but still anybody who knows anything knows that he is our best option in centerfield. No one is saying anything different at all. Not sure how you are bringing in JD's hitting or lack thereof into this discussion but I'm thinking that most people are smart enough to know that yup he is going to hit. Bradley on the other hand - I hope so - but really who the f*** knows with him. Doesn't mean we don't want him out there. Complaining about a guys hitting who is as streaky as Jackie is I think can be expected.
  3. I'm with you on this one. The guy hits balls of the fists farther than most do off the fat of the bat. I think that his teammates are pretty pleased that he is in the middle of our lineup.
  4. Slasher - really who are all of these people who want to see guys in our current lineup benched or platooned? Do you mean all of these people as in Moon for the platoon (haven't heard that from anyone else with respect to Benintendi) and wasn't there one other guy here who thinks that we should bring somebody up from Salem to play for JBJ.lol Here's the deal - Jbj is currently the very best option to play centerfield. No one in their right mind disagrees with that. Benintendi is a hitter and there is no way Cora is going to sit him versus anybody. Everybody seems pretty happy to me! But I don't get out much. Maybe there are still a few people here who are pissed that we aren't 10 and 0.
  5. JBJ is for sure a defense first guy but as for the rest of the current bunch although I am sure that we all agree that they have been making plays, maybe I'm alone here but everytime a ball is hit on the infield grass I get a little nervous.
  6. If he caught them, what are the odds right now that he could hit them? lol - I think that he will break out soon.
  7. Me too - If I had known before hand that Johnson was going to get some work, I would have set my alarm.
  8. Halleluya (sp) - I was wrong I guess about Benintendi.
  9. He even looks like he knows its anybodies game when its hit in his direction.
  10. yup - although I did kind of like Bill Bradley.
  11. Maybe he will Paul Pierce us tonight or even better for the Skanks - Willis Reed us
  12. Wait - maybe it is the least important spot in the batting order which isn't important anyway.
  13. He couldn't field worth a crap but I think that he was a hitman!
  14. did dom Dimaggio look like Mr. Peabody?
  15. that friggin third baseman will always be number one in my heart but no love for Rocky?
  16. lol - But what I have realized is that based on what the statistics say abut JBJ and his defense, the eye test ain't so bad! Got to be as credible as anything else I guess.
  17. Now I am really starting to get pissed about this whole topic. I am an angry man. If we just hadn't traded Margot for that Kimbrel guy we could have somebody else who could get it done in cf. can't imagine anybody wanting to trade away a prospect like this Margot for a relief pitcher. lol (sarcasm alert for those with no sense of humor)
  18. Without the special oil and stuff you think Bell?
  19. So as near I has I can figure there what might be one person if that on here who doesn't realize that JBJ is currently our best option in centerfield. Sticking with the thread has really never been strictly adhered to when the discussion generated in the thread is good. To answer the question should he be traded now - pretty unlikely that it would happen right now I'd say. If he continues his streaky ways, sure I could see it happening unless he wound up signing an extremely good home town contract. He is the best we got right now but every aspect of his game probably could be replaced whether we like the guy or not - that's just the way it goes.
  20. That one does deserve an lol particularly when one of the nicest posters says it. There was a clear message there.
  21. How's that infield D looking for us now if that happens. Might be a new found respect for XB the guy who looks good to the eye but not the sats. lol
  22. Hey now - you know that the sarcasm alert bell just rang! Things can certainly change for sure, but when I consider Kimbrel's importance to this team, it amazes me how many here would be willing to just let him walk away. I'm not for over paying players but excellence at some point gets rewarded. His importance to his team as well the emphasis on bullpens getting more pronounced makes him one of the guys on that I would least like to see leave. Maybe some closers are easy to replace - not this one I'm afraid.
  23. Really - you think that he was talking about you Hitch?
  24. In all fairness Moon though don't you have to say that very few people on here are actually out for JBJ's head. What maybe one or two and that's it. People might want more than what they are getting from their center fielder and that is understandable but almost every person that has posted here knows that he is our best option out there for the time being. It really isn't some kind of witch hunt that's going on. The discussion in general about how valuable he is or isn't is just being blown out of proportion.
