  1. I got to repeat - Everything we have seen from him so far is that he just wants to win. If he keeps pitching like he has for basically his whole career, he will get his payday. I hope that it is with Boston.
  2. Plus the fact that he sacrificed the entire future of our franchise by signing Moreland and keeping Holt. Freakin DD
  3. Everybody wants to see our guy get those wins especially when you probably are talking about one of the top 5 pitchers in baseball. My guess though is that what matters to Chris Sale is that his team wins. He is tough, talented and a great teammate. I am absolutely thrilled that we have him on this team.
  4. Don't go there - that summer should be a forbidden topic to discuss. lol
  5. Oh no sir doctor - not going to bite on this one. You are trying to lull us all to sleep.
  6. I think that it has been great that Pedroia has has to sit in that dugout and watch this team win without him. It should motivate him. Used to use an old trick with the prima donnas - put your hand in a bucket of water and watch the ripples build - take your hand out of the bucket and watch how fast everything gets back to normal. No one is indispensable - they can be replaced. I'm thinking that he comes back and helps this team.
  7. Now we are talking although I'd have to throw in that stiff Devers - he can't field his position.
  8. I don't think that anybody is super hyped up about moving JBJ. There is difference between wanting a guy who can really play to hit better and trading him. As the years go by though, trades are going to happen and someday he might be a part of one. As for our bullpen, I think that it could turn into one of our strengths as the season moves along.
  9. I wish my memory was better Moon (without looking back at every thread that has been written) but I remember this being mentioned and why not? I think that just about everybody that said anything about his 0 for whatever streak in spring training still thought that he would snap out of it. I hope that no one truly thought that all hope was lost with respect to Mookie. I didn't get that impression but I guess you never know.
  10. I didn't blame him at the time and I sure don't blame him now. My bet though is that when the time comes, he stays in Boston.
  11. They needed a whole new look and they got it. Farrell gone and Pedroia in the dugout for a little while = a damn good baseball team. Might even be as good as those Yankees! lol
  12. I think that you are right. Maybe some of our youngsters are in fact growing up. Sometimes younger guys obviously tend to be in awe of older proven veterans - makes sense. Playing with Pedroia in the dugout and succeeding has been good for this club. If he comes back healthy, he will help us but he doesn't need to worry about trying to be a leader. He just needs to play.
  13. It is all about health for this guy. On most teams, he is in the starting rotation for sure. I hope that that they keep him stretched out just in case.
  14. oh boy - He's too smart for any hometown discount either. What ever it takes might be where the Sox need to come from with this guy and his talent.
  15. I agree. It might be that Cora is going to move Johnson to the bullpen full-time. Not sure I am all in on that one but doing it could eventually give us a great bullpen. When Wright gets his chance, I think that he is going to have to pitch well. As for Velazquez, what's not to like there? I think that he has earned the right to pitch for the big club at this time as well. The only place I might disagree with you here, is that I wouldn't put Wright in the bullpen. Maybe as a last resort but right now I like our depth and I think that our bullpen has the potential to just get better as the season rolls along.
  16. It's a luxury to have two pitchers at the top of the rotation like Sale and Price. With those two leading off for us, we have one of the best one two punches in the game. It is hard to turn the page sometimes I guess but I haven't seen anything from him this year that is negative at all.
  17. No way but more importantly I wasn't the one getting thrown. There were a few things that happened a few years ago that I wish I could forget but they do kind of make me smile today.
  18. lol - I rarely went into bars where a conversation like this could possibly have happened. I was in one that opened at midnight - it was called "Between the Sheets" - cool name. It was not a lot of fun but I was not the guy who got thrown through the window anyway. lol again
  19. Wait - Washington on weed? President number1?
  20. Do you know secrets Slasher? lol
  21. I hope that Swihart starts to see a little more playing time if for no other reason then to justify the roster spot. He has talent the question is how and where to use it I guess. I like having a gloveman like Lin around just to help us defensively. If he keeps playing and hitting, it is going to be tough to send him back.
  22. I have - one - for me that was more than enough.
  23. I have a very talented golfing friend up here who played golf with Chuck Bednarik many years ago. He said that he was a pretty good player but had a hard time gripping the club normally because none of his fingers were straight. Imagine that - with that guy not hard to believe!
  24. I didn't state it clearly but that is what I meant. In many ways, this is a team that I am enjoying much more than last years version in spite of last years 93 wins.
  25. God they had some great teams with Starr though.
