  1. Do you know her? People can be anything they want to be on the internet and I have heard the "I"m 25" a couple of different times . Does that make it so? I haven't been here long so I am going by the quality of her posts and old and bitter is how she sounds.
  2. Funny stuff again from the Bitter Old Babe
  3. I guessing that stirring is DS's job......Peter A. seems to do the "news" stories for the Sox and Nick C. is less offensive, so DS's job is to be DS...and the GLOBE pays him for that. With all the people who hate him, he still goes on his merry way.
  4. You made some good points
  5. Buried in the middle of his otherwise innocuous column this morning he mentions Gonzo very quickly--calls him "a sour dude, almost Nomar-esque" "nobody likes a know-it-all" There was talk last year that his strong religious leanings may have been part of the problem.....of course everybody got hit with something or another....but I wonder what G. did to piss off S.
  6. An here I was talking about Beckett's fixation....you seem to have one with me. Here I am a newbie and I find you coming on to me with your "pretend" insults just to get my attention. Go away Auntie Em.
  7. if you consider that "worse" . Funny stuff
  8. There was something in TF's private life that did cause him some major problems with the team. By his own admission, he could not longer influence players with whom he had influence in the past. If there was no carry-over into the locker room, then it would not have become an issue....but it did. The guys were the ones who turned against TF. Where does that put the Boston media? Yea, they liked him and he co-operated with him. Would they have closed their eyes if the team continued to do well? I think so. There was nothing being said ( that I recall) until the team fell apart even though his personal problems this may have been going on for a while.
  9. I saw that quote and I am puzzled as to "somebody MADE UP that we were doing stuff"...So what was the "stuff"...the beer and chicken? The pitchers verified that it happened, so what does he mean by that? Flapping and stirring up is not good. Changing his story is even worse. edited to add: Regarding Francona ( I think JB said s***.....not "negative personal revelations following the season"), I don't recall hearing much more that crickets chirpping when he left. DP finally spoke in support, but there was dead quiet from the players for a very long time.
  10. I agree with you. Why is he continuing to flap? Get on the field, do the job you are being paid to do and 2011 will disappear. Trying to justify...and blame...and excuse is not helping the RS and it is not helping Beckett.
  11. If he talks stupid s***, he is judged on it.
  12. The sox pay Beckett to pitch, not CONTINUE to flap his mouth. Since we have not seen any pitching, but we have heard his mouth, we have only that to judge him on. While he may have been defending francona and his media problems in the EEI this week end, he ALSO said that they were making things up ( about francona?) as they made stuff up about us. Keep stirring it Josh and get your self in deeper.
  13. Wow, talk about overkill. Nobody mentioned getting rid of B or L because they seemed contrite about the issue....they aren't blaming the clubhouse rats for getting the story out.....you do recall that, right? Now why would you want P, Y, E and B out??? What have they done....did we miss something? And most ridiculous, you think you are going to get much more than 13:lol: wins out of Beckett this year??? What do they say "a cancer in the clubhouse".....yea.
  14. Does he need to go?? The fact that he got caught is bigger than the fact that he may have contributed to the demise of the Sox. He never said he was "sorry" so you can't even think he was sorry for that mess....but he sure is angry that news of the bad behavior got out.
  15. I don't think that Beckett helped the cause with his comments about the rat that let the cat out of the bag ( how do you like that mixed metaphor), but amazing to me was the picture that showed Lackey at ST and he never spoke to the media about anything. If Becket is a PR nightmare, they must really fear putting John out there
  16. I didn't read it that way.....If he wanted to end the COLUMN that way, his readers are not the ones staying thirsty bcause we are not under the ban. Did he want to end the column that way because he did not dare say it to Beckett in person but could do so in print? I don't know. But thanks for your POV
  17. Shaughnessy's conversation with Beckett ( as he reports it) Josh, any thoughts on BV's decision to take beer out of the clubhouse? --That's his decision Any reaction to it? --No. De you care that there won't be beer in the clubhouse this year? --No. DS says that he resisted the urge to end the conversation with "Stay thirsty my friend". * ************ When I read a while back that Beckett does not speak on his pitching day, I at first thought that he was amazingly focused....now I just think he is a pompous ass. ( from me not DS)
  18. I talked about that for years.....why did he wear that "C"?---Jeter and the other captain never did. Fianlly I just joked that it reminded him that he was a CATCHER......but a moleclue of respect for JV died whenever I saw that letter.
  19. I think they were drinking national brand swill to wash down the chicken
