  1. Oh, I'd much prefer we sign Colome and Pillar.
  2. Chaim isn't done yet.
  3. Strongly disagree. Beni vs RHP 283/361/459 821 +108 Renfroe vs RHP 216/268/449 717 +85 Renfroe is terrible vs. RHP. His SLG is close to Beni's, but Beni's OBP is 93 points higher! That's not a big difference to you? (Correct me if I'm wrong, but you've always said you thought OPS inflates the value of SLG over OBP too much. I happen to agree with that.) And we face RHP about 2/3 of the time, of course.
  4. I'll say it again: sign Pillar and be done with it. Kevin might be waiting to see what JBJ gets.
  5. Jaxo is correct that we're in a pretty freakin' tough division.
  6. Why so keen on trading Beni at this point?
  7. Renfroe is 912 vs LHP and 717 vs RHP. Much better in a platoon.
  8. I think what happens is that the contract details are sent to the Players Union bean-counters who do the calculations. So there's a delay. I noticed this with Mookie's. The contract may not even be finalized yet. There's always a second announcement on MLBTR when it's finalized.
  9. Plus some of Enrique's money is deferred, further reducing the difference.
  10. It's not so much that as the combination of health issues and 2 years of control.
  11. If you read that piece I posted, it graded the trade a B+ for the Yanks and a B for the Pirates.
  12. His first year on the job was a 60-game season in a pandemic after being given orders to trade Mookie Betts, and more if possible, and not to spend very much. Not only did we lose Betts, but as it turned out, we lost 4/5 of the previous year's rotation -Sale, Price, E-Rod and Porcello, for the whole season. He also had to replace Cora.
  13. Here's one piece on it. https://www.si.com/mlb/2021/01/24/jameson-taillon-trade-grades-yankees-pirates
  14. When DD decimated the farm, he didn't do it all in one trade either. And it was often pointed out that most of the guys he traded didn't amount to anything. The big thing is, DD did it when we were clearly in a window of contention. Now we're not. Doing this kind of trade to get back a guy who's gone after 2022 seems to be antithetical to what Bloom is trying to do right now.
  15. In other words, you still don't get the praise for Bloom, right?
  16. Maybe he would take that one. But we're supposed to be trying to build up our farm again, not re-decimating it.
  17. We can't totally rely on BTV for prospect values, though. I'm guessing Ben had his own evaluations of these prospects.
  18. Another good move by Cashman.
  19. Semien plays 2B, Bichette plays SS and Biggio plays third. Vlad Jr. to 1B.
  20. It's the nature of the game. Baseball is hard.
  21. The X factor in the AL East starting rotations is bordering on comical. Have we reached a point in baseball evolution that 80% of all starting pitchers are X factors?
  22. I liked the Peavy trade a lot. It was the kind of move you have to make when you're chasing a title.
  23. With all due respect, to me this is "I'm smarter than the GM's" syndrome. How about the Musgrove trade, how do you think Ben did on that one?
  24. He had some plus moves though. Signing Koji. Trading Miller for E-Rod. Blind squirrel.
  25. Your DNA will not let you not say these things every time we make some minor acquisition LOL
