  1. So who do we spend that 8/10 of a penny on?
  2. Pitchers Eckersley Schilling Price Beckett Lester Lackey D Wells Tudor Bill Lee Sparky Lyle Arroyo Ojeda
  3. 1B Cooper 2B Moncada SS Nomar 3B Bagwell LF Reggie Smith CF Lynn RF Betts C ? Shoppach ? still working on that one DH Manny
  4. Just for fun I went ahead and compiled the Red Sox All-Traded (since 1970) Team, and it's pretty incredible LOL
  5. That's a "skunk", I believe. Getting skunked in anything is very bad LOL
  6. The Marlins are one of the lowest revenue teams though. Anyway, it doesn't matter. Pure trivia.
  7. It's our run differential that's worrisome. The Jays and Rays both have better differentials.
  8. And great young players (like Tatis) get really expensive really fast. There's just no way around it.
  9. 3 straight series losses is concerning. Also concerning is that our Pythagorean record is only 52-42. Our weaknesses may be getting exposed a little lately.
  10. It was notin that first asked that question. I think what he was getting at was, all that really matters is total value. Hence my silly little 'Mookie vs. Ted' scenario.
  11. The latest theme in this thread is 'what's the big deal about 5 tool players?'
  12. No rentals at all? Not even like the ones we got in 2018? He said that?
  13. Yeah sure, blame Dave because the billionaire owners didn't want to pay a little more tax.
  14. What makes you confident we win game 2 with our hitting in this series? Best case scenario in game 2 was a suspended game completed yesterday.
  15. And I forgot Nomar.
  16. But isn't every single one of Mayer's tools better than Kavadas's? If you want to make an absurd comparison, here's one: Mookie vs. Ted. Ted would probably have fine being a DH, based on the stories about his attitude toward fielding.
  17. It's a very sensible move. Not sure it had anything to do with that play, considering the bad conditions.
  18. What I would say is that Cole is a terrific pitcher who was on his game last night. Last time we faced him he was a terrific pitcher who was off his game, and we got 3 homers and 6 runs off him in 5 innings.
  19. Although it was after the 2013 season that the Yankees signed him.
  20. The relevant comparison was between Cole and Eovaldi though.
  21. Stanton has an 827 OPS this year, LeMahieu has a 715. So I assume your position is that LeMahieu is a better clutch hitter?
  22. Says the man called Denny Galehouse LOL
  23. I'm talking about teams with legit small revenues and payrolls. Anyway, the first step would be to find any team who traded 5 players of that caliber in their prime or pre-prime. I have my doubts there are any.
