  1. Erod is the guy. If he doesn't get it going again, it's deep doo-doo.
  2. Moyer is a mind-boggler. Boston was just one quick stop on his travels.
  3. This is just an exercise on the best players the Red Sox traded away.
  4. If that was the case I'd have to dump Manny. It was more like an "Exercise to Kill Time With Red Sox Trivia".
  5. It's a long freakin' season. Some teams get written off and then rise from the dead. Other teams soar like eagles and then get shot down.
  6. Amazingly ominous deadline day and weekend. The Rays, Yankees and Jays all going 3-0 while the Red Sox go 0-3.
  7. Mild disagreements: -JDM being around for 2022 is not a 'nightmare scenario'. It's one more year and the Red Sox are a rich team. -It's not really a 'blind spot' for Dalbec. They thought they could get reasonable production out of a guy who's being paid minimum wage, which made sense considering their payroll concerns.
  8. They've played good baseball most of the time. It's just our starting pitching that's been letting us down.
  9. They were playing the Rays.
  10. Reached base 8 times in his first 9 Yankee PA's.
  11. I agree with everything you said there. If they do give Sale one more start at Worcester, I guess the thinking is they're sticking with the plan they had and agreed on with Sale, and not panicking. Not long ago many were saying we shouldn't count on Sale for anything this year. Now we want to rush him in there ASAP.
  12. Sadly, this seems irrelevant in the face of the pitching staff implosion.
  13. Yes, because Chavis turned out to be a baloney sandwich. I don't see much of a point here.
  14. It's a good line by Charles. However, it's also not controversial to suggest that players' performances are affected by a lot of physiological and psychological factors that are outside of those basic needs.
  15. The truth is, I like to speculate, try to solve riddles, figure out motives et cetera. Maybe Bloom was given a strict mandate on how much salary to take on. Or maybe he was too conservative. There are a lot of possible explanations. Maybe none that will satisfy us as fans.
  16. I would be feeling much better about our chances if E-Rod was pitching better. If he keeps sucking, we're in trouble for sure.
  17. You have nailed a bunch of relevant facts there without a doubt. We have a lot of concerns right now. Only some W's can cure these ills.
  18. You're a man on a mission, Denny.
  19. But maybe the reason for not getting a quality first baseman was the same as the reason for not getting a starting pitcher - the price.
  20. It feels like Yarborough has been pitching for the Rays a long, long time.
  21. This actually conflicts with one widely reported rumor that Red Sox ownership was pushing for Scherzer, which would have meant going over the tax line. So either the rumor was BS or Henry was willing to go over the line.
  22. I don't doubt that E-Rod, Richards and Perez are trying. They're just sucking. Frankly what most fans wanted was not for Richards and/or Perez to keep trying, but to be jettisoned in favor of someone better. As for their teammates, if some of them were dead honest, yes, I think they probably felt that way too.
  23. When you think about it, the Red Sox record in those 8 World Series is amazing. They have never once been blown out, won at least 3 games in each one. 28-19 overall record.
  24. Yes, I would never ask for a re-write of Red Sox history of the last 20 years.
  25. There is no wrong way to think, for fans.
