  1. I really don't think it was the team's intent to give up on 2021. Nobody saw this kind of slide coming. Expectations of adding Sale/Houck/Schwarber/Arroyo etc.
  2. The bigger problem at the deadline was not having the prospects. It had little to do with money.
  3. Hopefully he gets some postseason AB's.
  4. It's always about the W's and L's. A stretch like this with too many L's makes fans sour on everything from the owner down to the ballboy/girl/person, and full of opinions on what should have been done and who f***ed up.
  5. Barnes IP by month Apr 14 May 10 Jun 11 Jul 8 Aug 3 Cora's been trying to conserve him the last couple of months.
  6. The old adage is you have to put the guy right back on the horse. We don't really have the luxury of giving Barnes a rest.
  7. And you know what the reaction would be if Perez gave up runs.
  8. Just go with the guy who won't give up any runs!
  9. Maybe so, but his 4th inning numbers are OK, which obviously is second time through top of the order. So there may be a fatigue factor in there too.
  10. Yeah, but that doesn't change the fact that our best relievers just didn't get it done the last 2 games. Sometimes guys just don't perform. That's a completely separate issue from the lack of deadline moves, which disappointed me as well.
  11. We should have won the last 2 games, needless to say, with 7-2 and 4-1 leads. And we blew them with our best relievers on the mound. There's not much management can do about that.
  12. Good for you, iortiz. A man with some positivity.
  13. Yeah right. Buck Showalter. Don't lose your marbles, man.
  14. Gallo has 22 K's in his first 12 games as a Yankee.
  15. Sure, they could have traded every prospect.
  16. And they were limited in what they could do at the deadline, too.
  17. They were expecting, or hoping for better. It's been known to happen.
  18. Everyone seems to overlook the fact that Dalbec is a minimum wage player, which is important to a team trying to stay under the tax line.
  19. Yes, the idea was to shorten games, and the same with the 7 inning doubleheader games. These were temporary rules they put in because of COVID-19. Maybe they went overboard, but I think the reason behind them was a valid one.
  20. It's a COVID-19 rule that everyone agreed on.
  21. Sorry, what anecdotal evidence did I provide?
