  1. All of us have our own feelings about it.
  2. But not completely at the expense of competing in the current season. That's the balance Bloom is trying to strike.
  3. The Yankees could swing it and consider him the replacement for Judge.
  4. Realistically, if the Red Sox do become sellers, it's the expiring contracts they'll be trading, not a guy who has 2 more arb years left.
  5. Sawamura has a 2.55 ERA. I must have missed a big change in Old School thinking or something.
  6. ? Houck and Whitlock were in the pen at the start of the season.
  7. Our pen was shaky even before starters began getting injured. As of now we have 3 relievers we all like-Houck, Whitlock and Schreiber.
  8. Dreck is worthless, so you have to get darn creative. It's kind of like the rock soup story.
  9. Definitely a significant one of the multiplicity of reasons for the recent skid.
  10. Who would want to eat the 2023 contract of the Dreckster?
  11. They're losing for a multiplicity of reasons. Having Eovaldi, Whitlock, Wacha and Hill all back would certainly help. Losing Sale again hurts. I don't see any reason for big optimism for the 2022 team.
  12. Might as well stick with the puncher's chance, huh? That was basically all we had last year and it nearly worked.
  13. Something tells me it's the number after the dollar sign that matters most to Soto. And he turned down $440. So I'd say no and no.
  14. There is definitely no need for that.
  15. Just a terrible break for him and us.
  16. Verdugo has at least proven he can hit major league pitching. He has a career OPS of .767. Duran has not proven he can hit major league pitching.
  17. I doubt he'll be traded. He's affordable and he's a decent player. As you say, Bloom will have plenty of other things to keep him busy.
  18. I think that's a pretty jerky stance by Merrifield. I don't care enough about my present team to get vaxed, but trade me to a contender and I will? Boy, that's real principles for ya...
  19. Brasier has more lives than a cat...
  20. This might be the year the Mariners fool us all. Every dog has his day.
  21. 580 million...Jiminy Crickets!
  22. That kind of makes Merrifield a jerk, I'd say...
  23. I don't think it's correct to say the teams choose. It comes down to the individual players. Teams can't make them do it.
  24. I don't disagree with your view. But there are those who think there should be a penalty for not being vaccinated...
