    Our pen was shaky even before starters began getting injured. As of now we have 3 relievers we all like-Houck, Whitlock and Schreiber.

    They're losing for a multiplicity of reasons. Having Eovaldi, Whitlock, Wacha and Hill all back would certainly help. Losing Sale again hurts. I don't see any reason for big optimism for the 2022 team.

    Something tells me it's the number after the dollar sign that matters most to Soto. And he turned down $440. So I'd say no and no.

    Verdugo has at least proven he can hit major league pitching. He has a career OPS of .767. Duran has not proven he can hit major league pitching.

    I doubt he'll be traded. He's affordable and he's a decent player. As you say, Bloom will have plenty of other things to keep him busy.

    I don't think it's correct to say the teams choose. It comes down to the individual players. Teams can't make them do it.
