  1. Many of us have wondered WTH happened in those "negotiations". Today I'm thinking it is a little strange that the Sox didn't make a counter to Mookie's counter, even if only for the sake of PR. Based on what we know about Henry, it seems possible he just got pissed off and said eff this, move on to Bogaerts and Sale.
  2. My real position is an agnostic one right now. I think 2023 will be a defining year for him.
  3. But Russia is willing to trade her for a convicted murderer, cash considerations and a rapist to be named later.
  4. Chris Gasper asked Mookie flat out if 12/365 would have kept him in Boston and Mookie said yes. Whether it was true, who knows.
  5. In a recent column in the Globe Peter Abraham wrote about how Mookie has become the face of the Dodgers and makes some troubling insinuations about how this wasn't possible in Boston.
  6. Dewey I'm sorry you feel that way. I always like your contributions, even when I disagree, and I notice it when you're not here.
  7. As we often say here, what would you expect Bloom to say?
  8. Actually, yes, the Yankees were in a very similar situation last year, and that's why they got Rizzo at the deadline. Ask and ye shall receive!
  9. And that does seem credible.
  10. But none of them reach into their own pockets. For the most part what they spend is tied to the franchise's revenues.
  11. The run of injuries was pretty crazy. I think it was on 3 consecutive days we found out Eovaldi, Wacha and Hill were all going on the IL. Then Sale. Plus Kike, Story and Devers. We were too thin to be able to withstand that many injuries.
  12. Crickets.
  13. Can't argue with the W-L records.
  14. I'm in roughly the same position. I think my biggest worry about Bloom is a tendency to be "too clever", as with the JBJ trade.
  15. Yeah, like Old Red and some of the other bashers aren't prolific.
  16. Maybe he was trying to be respectful to Vaz? Being a GM can be kind of a political thing sometimes.
  17. Um, did you notice the title of the thread we're posting on? I don't see any thread titled "Bloom Rules"...
  18. It looks like Gerrit Cole has the opposite problem from McGuire. Since they banned the stickum, Gerrit has a problem getting a good grip on his balls...
  19. Heyman writes a column for the NY Post now.
  20. It should have something to do with the mood of the fans. It's not like the team is on a long run of missing the playoffs.
  21. I only commented on what's happened so far. I made no predictions.
  22. The Phillies are 34-19 since DD canned Girardi. It does look like he might be turning the team around a bit.
  23. Hey moon, maybe they traded Vaz so they could have a two month experiment in CERA?
