  1. Nick Martini
  2. Pedroia, seriously? The guy who got destroyed for "It's not me, it's them", and probably by the same guy who says this now? The media is so FOS.
  3. No, Cot's figures don't seem to reflect all the adjustments for trade deadline moves.
  4. $22 mill to be exact.
  5. We were over by about $12 million before the trade deadline, so how do you figure that?
  6. How about some love for Kutter Crawford? He's one guy who has been better than expected and has helped keep the pitching staff from completely imploding.
  7. Kike gets the Shane Victorino award for this year. Reserved for players who become fan favorites their first season, come down with an apparently minor injury early in their second season, and are never seen again.
  8. Not much you can do when a guy gets hit in the hand by a pitch.
  9. It would be kind of funny if Bloom and Dombrowski both go after Syndergaard and Robertson this offseason.
  10. Yes, he's having a subpar season and probably has lost some bat speed, and probably will be elsewhere next year. A very good signing by DD nonetheless.
  11. Boy, you're a real ray of sunshine. (You have plenty of company, of course.)
  12. And the game before, JD had the game-tying hit in the 9th that turned a loss into a win. Players have bad games all the time.
  13. Why not start 2023 with Hosmer and Dalbec platooning at first. When Casas is ready, move the Hosmer/Dalbec tandem to DH. That's two positions covered at little dough, leaving room to spend on other needs.
  14. It's just who he is. He'll come out of it soon.
  15. Benintendi has become a Punch and Judy hitter. He has 3 home runs this year and a microscopic ISO of .081. If he was still with the Sox he'd be taking his share of abuse.
  16. I don't know, they seemed to play pretty hard the last 3 games.
  17. So now you're agreeing with Vegas that Bloom should have sold off. Kind of a flip-flop.
  18. Plus we have Hosmer, so a lot of guys from that year's World Series teams.
  19. Schwarber, Rodon and Jansen have a combined 2022 AAV of about 58 million. That would add 35 million to this year's payroll for tax purposes, plus a pile of tax and other unpleasant stuff.
  20. I highly doubt there are any HOBO's who don't spend the budget they're given.
  21. As for Arroyo, some wanted him gone long ago, but now he's one of the team's hottest hitters. So maybe Bloom was right to keep him around.
  22. Refsnyder was signed in the offseason. For whatever reason he wasn't called up until June except for a few appearances in April.
  23. Brasier has a 5.32 ERA but a 3.21 FIP. He continues to get the ball in key situations. I guess management does pay attention to FIP.
  24. What about Pham? I'm confoozed. Edit: I guess what you're saying is Pham was added AT the deadline.
