  1. As far as not running for JD, from what I've seen the standard managerial practice there is not to pinch run until the guy gets to second base.
  2. Fans are brutal, basically LOL For some reason Story's first season with the Red Sox reminds me a little of Drew's first season with us. Of course Story won't get the chance to hit a postseason grand slam.
  3. I'm with ya, Max. And I stay out of game threads because guys are so mean to Cora.
  4. The reason some jokingly called it the Punto trade?
  5. Kind of an ignominious experience for a player, isn't it. Your team puts you out on the street for anyone who wants to take you. If nobody wants you, you get shipped to the minors.
  6. I was there, man. The first game I saw in Fenway was in September, 1974, right in the middle of one of their epic collapses. That year they were 7 games up in the AL East on August 23, and ended up 7 back.
  7. It wasn't the 60 games that hurt, it was the 12 year extension.
  8. But you should have pitched better.
  9. I think we were dealing with stupid Dodgers people the first time, and smart Dodgers people the second time.
  10. I'm not, but they were able to escape that one.
  11. Price, Sale, and the unholy trio of Pablo, Hanley and Castillo.
  12. That was a bit different, of course. The Red Sox also lost one of those in 1948, in the Denny Galehouse game.
  13. Agreed. The owners have only themselves to blame, of course.
  14. Yep, that happened to both boxers and musicians.
  15. How would you classify the potential burn on Tatis Jr.?
  16. Hell yeah.
  17. I agree. The 5 last place finishes in the last 11 years are a drag though.
  18. Same injury.
  19. He's had one significant injury in his career, and seems fully healthy again.
  20. Cora is 2-0 vs. Boone in playoff series/Wild Card games. So no.
  21. "Broken"? He has a .960 OPS. His lowest OPS since 2012 is .939. He's a machine.
  22. So bring up German. Done.
  23. How much for Trout plus Ohtani?
  24. If they were willing to trade Trout, they might not have to throw in any money at all.
  25. Yes and no. a) Cashman has been GM a long time. The Yankees have one of the highest payrolls every year and their fans have high expectations. c) The Yankees haven't won the World Series since 2009, and have only won one AL pennant since 2003. Of course if they win it all this year, that would wipe all that out.
