  1. I don't think Eovaldi is much more of a question mark than most pitchers these days. And the price was far from exorbitant.
  2. Roansy Contreras has been pitching very well for them. The really nice thing is that Ben got him from the Yanks in the Taillon trade.
  3. Cot's has us $16M under.
  4. How do you know Benny's Bucs aren't for real?
  5. Maybe not bliss, but a temporarily elevated mood at least.
  6. Reportedly Cora was also very suspicious about that game.
  7. Depending on what numbers you believe, the same could be said of Eovaldi's contract.
  8. I would suggest directing that question to mvp tomorrow. He has good intel on that, I think.
  9. Hicks has an OPS+ of -4. Not even sure how that's possible LOL
  10. That's him. He was part of the Kimbrel trade and has been much-discussed here. The scuttlebutt was that he was a "throw-in" by DD and part of why it was an overpay.
  11. That would be encouraging. He's going against Logan Allen.
  12. Cleveland rookie starting pitcher Peyton Battenfield. Kudos to him for making the big leagues, but with that name it's a little unfortunate he's not a position player.
  13. Eflin and Eovaldi are going to be the ones that hurt, I think.
  14. And I must say the injuries have been insane.
  15. I never thought I would become this guy who reacts to every win and loss, but that's the way I've been so far this year. Any frustration I've had has not been directed toward the players or Cora, it's been towards Henry and Bloom for not doing more to bolster the team's chances.
  16. He must be putting in the work.
  17. Let's stick with the positive interpretation. Bloom needs every break he can get.
  18. For me this year is different than any other year since before Henry bought the team. I'm bitterly disappointed with the effort that went into this year's team. I'm surprised Henry wouldn't spend more, and my doubts about Bloom's abilities have grown to the point that I may not feel bad about his departure. It's the first time in a long time I've felt this hopeless this early, no question.
  19. Sorry man, I don't like it either, but this team is dead meat. I have no hope for it at all. You can't win with a rotation that gives up over 6 runs a game. And there are no fixes in sight. Just a lousy job by the people in charge, and they deserve all the heat they get for it.
  20. Yep, they went with a bunch of hopes and prayers. The results are ugly and they could very well get uglier.
  21. The Yankees might very well finish 4th in the division this year.
  22. This team has a much bigger problem to deal with - the absolutely horrific starting rotation.
  23. Ah well, it doesn't matter much Red. Swapping Casas for Hosmer would be the proverbial move of deck chairs on the Titanic.
  24. Jays' 4 relievers last night each retired all 3 batters and struck out 2 of them.
