  1. To me Yamamoto seems like a guy Henry and Bloom would be very interested in.
  2. I'm just being a cold-blooded realist about Yoshida. He's a highly paid DH. And his overall offensive production isn't as good as lower-paid guys with more power like Turner and Duvall.
  3. The resting vs. not resting is obviously a very inexact science, predicated on the idea (presumably backed by stats) that players wear down physically and mentally over the course of the season. The Braves are rejecting the idea. We'll see how it works for them.
  4. It's not bashing to post a guy's WAR. As Hugh said, his WAR would be higher if he was a DH. That's what he is, a DH.
  5. The Rays may have a Wander Franco problem.
  6. Hard to say what said SPer would have done in those games. And our offense didn't score a lot of runs in those games.
  7. So Sale and Whitlock came back as promised and both did well. If Houck follows suit, it's actually going to make the trade deadline inactivity look quite justifiable.
  8. One thing that's probably not going to happen but that would amuse me is if the Sox sign Luis Severino and try to resurrect him.
  9. As a700hitter's avatar would say, "Make my day."
  10. I agree, Pivetta will be a bargain.
  11. There's no chance the Red Sox are even thinking about Ohtani. But hopefully they're thinking about the Japanese ace who doesn't hit.
  12. Good thing we didn't trade Duvall.
  13. The bats will wake up. Hopefully it won't be too late when they do. It's a crazy game. Probably only a matter of time before someone rips Bloom for not getting a bat at the deadline.
  14. It's a no-win situation for him, though, frankly. There's no way to sell a rebuilding plan to Red Sox Nation that will please them.
  15. Who would have thought that the human arm doesn't benefit from throwing stitched-together round projectiles at absurd rates of velocity and spin?
  16. It's amazing how the powers that be can screw over the paying customers with such impunity.
  17. You should get a blackout rebate.
  18. Bloom has been a monster mixed bag, but at this point in time I do have hope for him. I really do want to like him.
  19. Yoshida's 1.2 fWAR is not really a big impact at this point.
  20. Yoshida is tied with Duvall for 5th in fWAR among Sox position players at 1.2. This signing is still not necessarily in the win column.
  21. Of course they are. It would be absurd to argue otherwise.
  22. Uh oh, looks like the Sox ran into a hot pitcher. They can't do anything with this guy. (Just trying some reverse negativity.)
  23. And If we signed Eovaldi instead of Kluber we'd have about 4 more wins now. Different ways to look at things.
  24. The Mariners are becoming a major annoyance.
  25. It's been Chaim Bloom's 2023 Utility Infielder Extravaganza. Never a dull moment.
