  1. Just to be a completist, in 2020 the Dodgers came back from down 3-1 in the NLCS.
  2. Do we have any idea who grumbled about Breslow already?
  3. Needless to say this WS ain't over yet. I'd love to see Nate get the win tonight.
  4. Theo's years were a relatively smooth rollercoaster in terms of W-L records. 2011 was ugly of course.
  5. I think the Texas front office should get some credit for really going for it in a year they had a shot. They lost deGrom as you say, then at the deadline they get Scherzer(also lost for the rest of the WS) and Montgomery. That is some serious going for it.
  6. Why must you wonder such things.
  7. And it's been a bizarro roller coaster ever since.
  8. And nobody on base. Yes, 1986 was a solid #2 to 1978 for me. And then 2003 was a solid #3.
  9. 1978 was the worst for me too.
  10. Also "partnerships" with various corporate enterprises. The Yankees are getting paid over $20 million a year to wear patches with the logo of Starr Insurance.
  11. Koufax was the story in the 1965 WS. He didn't start Game 1 because it conflicted with Yom Kippur. Instead he pitched Games 2, 5, and 7, pitching complete game shutouts in the last two.
  12. For me the World Series was a big deal starting when I was 9 years old in 1965. I liked the Dodgers because of Koufax and Drysdale. They beat the Twins in 7. I didn't skip school but I did rush home to watch the games.
  13. Same, Nate is the only player I care much about. I'm against Arizona because I don't think they should be in the playoffs to start with.
  14. I'm hoping for Texas, that's about all I got.
  15. Which raises again the two-part question: where the heck is all the money in today's game coming from, and is the bubble going to eventually burst?
  16. It's always animals with you.
  17. I think the contract Bogey got might be the most insane contract ever handed out. Most people figured he'd get $200 mill at the absolute most.
  18. When we signed Story I compared his fWAR per game to Bogey's and it was just slightly lower, so yes, they were very close.
  19. Agree 100%.
  20. I think it's 2 concerns now: 1) Can he stay healthy? 2) Can he still catch up to high heat?
  21. I notice the "T word" is really getting a lot of play lately.
  22. You have to keep in mind we're a lot older now so that changes the perspective hugely. Corey Seager is an awesome player and should be recognized as such.
  23. As long as people are betting like lunatics on the games, it's all good!
  24. Hopefully it wasn't a booze thing like Derek Lowe in 2004. I'm only saying that because it's so outrageous and wrong.
