  1. Bellhorn continues to fume uselessly about not signing Gray or Erod or Wacha.
  2. He's only as good as the people who work for him. Things started going to s*** the moment Epstein departed, really.
  3. Terrific! Misery loves company.
  4. In all honesty it wouldn't surprise me if they decide to move Breslow from CBO to some sort of new Pitching Guru Incarnate position.
  5. As of now we're worse than last year. But they should be able to do enough to make a run at .500.
  6. The Red Sox stand tall in their firm stance against paying for starting pitching. Mighty warriors of fiscal restraint!
  7. Another 78-84 season should be fine. Threepeat, baby!
  8. That's a little different from the team saying they're out. They probably are, though. Punt!
  9. Don't rule out Henry complaining about the Dodgers' massive spree.
  10. 46 months, assuming JH stays patient.
  11. If Montgomery gets $217 million, I think we'd also have to throw in "inflationary conditions".
  12. I submit that he should be referred to as Logan Allen II. Logan Allen I pitched for Cleveland in 2022. Logan Allen II pitched for Cleveland in 2023. That is some crazy randomness.
  13. Including if they're a pitcher, right?
  14. If other teams are doing better at it, maybe it's our scouting and evaluation that's the problem and not the strategy.
  15. My answer to the why is: 1) The Red Sox adhere closely to this strategy. 2) The Red Sox have s***** pitching and are constantly forced to go outside the organization to get pitching. 3) These two facts may be related.
  16. Who's trading Pivetta?
  17. The prospect of Montgomery getting 3 times as much as Gray is madness in itself.
  18. FWIW there have been stories that if the Mets don't sign Moto, they will not be going after Monty or Snell. Cohen is focused on Moto.
  19. These are the scenarios that start to make punting look good. We do know they had a zoom meeting with Severino LOL
  20. Only the other NY team?
  21. Montgomery is in play, sure, but he'll also likely be in play for most of the teams that lose out on Moto. That means inflation. That means he might not even be a smart choice any more. But maybe I'm just suffering from a bad case of negative confirmation bias...
  22. Cohen has already set the precedent with his 2023 spree. He's worth 20 bill and he's like a big crazy kid with his team. If it comes down to an EBay situation, no one is going to top him.
  23. Oh, it'll be a competitive offer, very competitive indeed. This is a guy who was willing to pay $100 mill in luxury tax alone...
  24. It's just too easy to see a scenario here where the Sox lose out on Moto, pass on Snell because of the injury risks, and find Montgomery has gotten too expensive. Then tell the fans they tried their hardest, but things just didn't fall their way.
