  1. Well, we do need to keep a lane open for Criswell...
  2. Yes, it seems more and more like the guys responsible for the team's success over the past two decades were: Larry Lucchino Theo Epstein Dave Dombrowski
  3. And I honestly wouldn't be shocked if someone outbids us for Paxton.
  4. No one will ever know, you realize that, don't you? Omerta.
  5. Sam likes to stay busy, so they put him in charge of all the team's holiday events, decorations and gift-buying. But just to remind him of how things are, they gave him a credit card with a modest limit and told him anything over and above has to come out of his own pocket.
  6. Based on the stories that leaked, we don't even know if they were pissed at Bloom for not buying in July, or for not selling in July.
  7. A somewhat ominous item about Breslow from Peter Abraham: Breslow barely acknowledged Yamamoto existed when he spoke to reporters at the Winter Meetings. The hope was to ask him a few questions this week at a time when the fan base is growing increasingly frustrated with the team’s lack of action. Through a spokesman, we were told there was “a possibility” Breslow would talk to reporters again in January.
  8. You're not the first to ask.
  9. You have to wonder if Henry and Werner think having a young and 'cerebral' guy like Bloom or Breslow as CBO gives them better cover for their penny-pinching.
  10. Out of which Campbell is the only one with any MLB numbers to speak of, correct?
  11. smoke, my concern is that Breslow is on a short leash and the team is actually being run by a committee now. It's a crowded front office.
  12. With 20/20 hindsight, maybe the attitude stuff had something to do with the Dodgers making Verdugo available. They hosed us good, man.
  13. I think we're 100% out on Snell. The question is whether they will try to sign Montgomery and who our main competition would be. The Rangers maybe. Possibly the Yanks, although they had a bad breakup with Monty. The Sox might not even be thinking about Montgomery, though, for all we know. That's the scary thing.
  14. It feels like Henry still has steam coming out of his ears because of the Price contract and the Sale extension. Maybe he has vowed not to spend on another starting pitcher until Sale is off the books.
  15. Realistically, they had no chance on Moto, with the Dodgers, Yanks and Mets all in on him. It was a pipe dream from the outset, especially with our thrift-conscious owners.
  16. I've been saying that all along. It's why I was unhappy about them passing on the $75 mill and $80 mill contracts for Gray and ERod.
  17. It's reached the point it's impossible to know what they're thinking. But it sure seems like Henry still has the budget clampers on tight, and the Full Throttle thing was just another joke on Sox fans.
  18. Isn't Massachusetts "Taxachussets" again?
  19. You know, a serious trade, like Moncada and Kopech for Sale.
  20. We have enough projects already, I think. That's why we need a more proven quantity.
  21. Like I say, the Dodgers had it all going for them. They made the decisions easy ones.
  22. Hell, if they do that we'll all feel a lot better. That might be a team worth watching, plus it'd show they're still committed to trying.
  23. It all started in 2019 without a doubt. Bye bye Dombrowski and bye bye Betts. A new era was underway.
  24. If they trade for Burnes they'll have to give up a top prospect and pay him at free agent prices. Trades aren't a slam-dunk either.
  25. But it's getting late.
