    A. J. Burnett loses a no-hitter in the 8th, ends up with a 1-hit shutout. He's now 13-3 with a 3.27 ERA for the Bucs. LMAO

    The Yankees didn't 'really improve', on paper anyway. They added a guy with a .642 OPS and a guy with a .676 OPS. They added 2 guys who are hitting well below MLB average this year.

    The timing and circumstances of this are bizarre, considering Sweeney had actually contributed to the Sunday win over the Yankees, and this was a freaking single that he got robbed of...not to mention the trade deadline thing.

    My attitude about Beckett has been vacillating between Sweet Chin Music's and Born to Run's all year. Now I'm just tired of all the trade rumor crap. I want July 31 over and I want this team to start playing some real baseball. Every now and then they give signs of being able to do it.

    That was the year I started listening to Sox games on the radio. I'm pretty sure Sonny Siebert came close to throwing a no-hitter that year.
