  1. I don't think baseball will ever be able to switch to electronic strike zones, not for a while yet anyway. It could be done easily now. But a lot of people would despise it.
  2. That was some serious bullpen work.
  3. Tazawa & Uehara 9 up 9 down, 6 K's.
  4. Victorino you are beautiful man. They knew the bunt was coming and you still f***ed them up.
  5. Even better than the ones last September?
  6. Tazawa! We have the greatest tandem of Japanese relievers in MLB history.
  7. Way too long. Leaving a spot starter in for 106 pitches? No good.
  8. No idea why Farrell left him in so long. Over 100 pitches.
  9. But he only used Mortensen & Wilson last night and Lester is up next.
  10. Our hitters 9 through 5 all have at least 2 hits, 2 of them have 3. It should be like 17-0.
  11. I know, they're like a f***ing corporation that can't help making money even when their product sucks.
  12. Naps timed that pitch beautifully.
  13. Victorino looked horrible this spring. Just another reason to love this game.
  14. Yes, Carp is not only a fish, it's also an acronym for s***.
  15. Carp smoked that ball.
  16. So the Red Sox had a double and two singles in the 2nd and didn't score. And just for fun they did the same thing in the 4th. Man this can be a bizarre game.
  17. Damn I like Napoli.
  18. Aceves vs. Masterson does seem to put us at a disadvantage tonight, so maybe some reverse psychology isn't such a bad thing for this one. I think we're gonna get pounded tonight. Not much sense even showing up, really.
  19. Billy Conigliaro
  20. It is indeed a great fanbase. It's also a stone cold crazy one, we prove that here every day.
  21. And with all that the Doggers are 7-7 after last night.
  22. On the balls and strikes thing, I make this the second game of the year that's been decided by one call going one way or the other. In the Hanrahan blown save a called ball cost us a win. In this game a called ball led to a win for us. The pitch graphs say Ross was struck out by Jimenez in the second on pitch #5. Instead he got a walk. Then Ciriaco lined out to right for a sac fly. If that pitch had been called a strike, it's possible the Sox would have scored zero runs that inning instead of 7.
  23. By an odd coincidence, Friday is also the day Ortiz will lose $2 million if he's still on the DL.
  24. From what I gather from reading people's opinions of what an ace is, to me the consensus seems to be that an ace is a pitcher who is a possible Hall of Famer, or a certain one. The Red Sox have therefore had 4 true aces in the last 50 years, Tiant, Clemens, Pedro and Schilling.
