  1. No excuses for Price - just seems to be s***** luck on our part - he's having the worst season of his career - our 2016 chances may be screwed as a result.
  2. That, plus the injuries to key relievers, plus fragile Koji - a pretty tall assignment for any manager.
  3. I think Holt has a big game tonight at leadoff. (Why not?)
  4. So we probably got as much as we could out of him. Now he has some time off and we have someone in his place who isn't an injury waiting to happen. Hopefully we get Koji back for a little more use later.
  5. No offense, but that's absurd. He's 4th on the team in WAR. No matter, I'm quite confident that management doesn't subscribe to such idiocy.
  6. But you don't pay any actual attention to either on this issue.
  7. Yes, I believe Swihart's current trade value is well below Moncada's.
  8. And sabotage the chances for this year and the next few. Brilliant.
  9. Just look up Tom House. House pitched in the 1970's and later admitted to using steroids. He said a lot of players in the 70's were experimenting with steroids. House was on the 1973 Braves, the only team in history to have 3 players hit 40 home runs. The name of one of those 3 is pretty obvious.
  10. Tazawa hasn't pitched since July 3. On July 3 Tazawa had 35 appearances and Koji had 33. You do tend to pass guys who are on the DL.
  11. Add him to your sig.
  12. Tough question without some parameters. At the start of 2013 Sox fans hated Lackey and considered him a colossal bust. By the end of the season that had changed 180 degrees.
  13. You mean on paper at the start of the 2013 season vs. the start of the 2016 season?
  14. Easy choice because we already know what the first group did.
  15. There are some other factors though, namely the team's current circumstances - a dire need for another starter, and a team that may have a legit chance of winning it all. When he traded for Peavy in 2013, I'm sure Ben had little or no expectation that 1.3 years of Peavy would be a better value than Detroit's years of Iggy.
  16. Speaking about the efforts to trade for starting pitching, Dombrowski said, "The names we don't want to trade always seem to start the conversation."
  17. Nobody likes trading high-ceiling guys like Espinoza.
  18. Sure we can get a top pitcher - just have to start with the name Betts, Bogaerts or Bradley.
  19. This team has great potential, that's all I can say at this point. We are still locked in a 3 way race for the division. Price and Pomeranz may be the keys to the whole thing.
  20. That would be great if Ben got the Twins job.
  21. Hanigan did a decent job catching Wright last night, also.
  22. We'll never know really, because he usually deals in un-confirmable rumors, like the 'Buchholz or Miley' one.
