  1. Like I said, if he has a miraculous revival it could change the outlook. His age is a factor now too. If he can't pitch worth s*** any more he just might be done. I still think there may be some lingering medical issues but that's just speculation on my part.
  2. Not really. He pitched very well in 2015. He can't pitch for s*** in 2016. Sort of a difference there, from where I sit anyway.
  3. Let me get this straight: are you suggesting that any criticism of Price's performance didn't necessarily equate to saying that he was the biggest problem with our pitching?
  4. Not unless he has a miraculous second-half revival. FanGraphs has him at a current value of negative $4.2 million.
  5. We've had ex-players come back to haunt us, but what Daniel Murphy is doing to his ex-team this year is unbelievable. He has 21 RBI in 13 games against the Mets.
  6. Maybe we can follow up our June Swoon with a July High.
  7. Pointed sarcasm - a Talksox trademark.
  8. This is such a dead horse. I think Porcello and his agent told the Sox they'd sign an extension on the right terms before the season but there would be no negotiations once the season started. That's a fairly common ploy. Then if the player has a big year the team has lost its chance to get a lower price. But you're right, as things played out they could have saved money.
  9. Yes, you have to like it.
  10. Sorry you two, replay is here to say.
  11. But you'll live with it, because you love the game.
  12. Yes, you guessed right.
  13. If if if. That's the point. It was ifs either way.
  14. I think the replay system is working pretty well myself. It's not perfect by any means and the delays are a pain, but calls are getting fixed, and baseball games are often long and slow anyway.
  15. And if Porcello pitched like this last year his price would have jumped by more than 20 million. It was a roll of the dice.
  16. Nice job not re-opening the can of worms, moon.
  17. Trade Porcello?
  18. My reasoning is this: in 2015 there were less than 1200 challenges initiated by managers out of a possible total of about 4800, so less than 25%. I think that % would be higher if not for all the occasions where the manager checks the video and sees that the call was correct. If managers were utilizing their challenges 75% of the time instead of 25% then obviously the video checks would add to the total length of delays rather than reduce them.
  19. As you love to say, if your aunt had balls she'd be your uncle.
  20. The only problem is that there would be even more time wasted on replays if they weren't checking video first to see if it's worth challenging.
  21. Thank you Captains Obvious.
