That's right. The issue is that even by doing nothing, the payroll cost for several players will rise significantly - Sale, Bogey and likely Mookie for starters.

I just assume Cora had his reasons for doing so. As others have said, he's got a lot more information than we do. And it's not like he's babying starting pitchers every time out. E-Rod has thrown 114 pitches and 111 pitches his last 2 outings.

Minnesota is playing .667 ball this year after playing .481 ball last year, so it's obvious that Baldelli has been the supreme managerial maestro this year!

Minnesota is the highest scoring team in MLB but in this series they've only scored 4 runs in 25+ innings. So have their hitters been crappy in the 2 games or has our pitching been excellent? That's strictly a rhetorical question, because no one really knows the answer. It's not that simple.

Cora is a ballsy manager IMO. He knew he would take heat for pulling Price there. Just like he knew he would get questioned for pulling Porcello for Brewer the game before.
