  1. Solid post Max. Just one thing-the Sox have actually played 15 games in 14 days with the DH against the Rays.
  2. He could, but then you've got Brian Johnson starting every 5th day. Better that DD picks up a reliever on the trade market, I think.
  3. What was the most gutsy pitching change in Red Sox history? For me there's no contest. It was when Tito brought in Bronson Arroyo for the 8th inning of 2004 ALCS Game 6.
  4. That's probably the nickname of the fellow who got the save.
  5. Taking out Porcello and putting in Brewer there was either brave or crazy, take your pick LOL I'm a Cora fan so I'll go with brave.
  6. Last 10 starts: 64.2 IP 3.20 ERA 54 K 10 BB .607 OPSa If Rick keeps pitching like this, he gonna get paid. You can't discount the Recency Effect. Just ask Nate Eovaldi.
  7. I think the opening offer has to be what is now known as the 'Lester Insult Offer' of 4/$70 million.
  8. The Rays got Yandy Diaz in that transaction, though, so I doubt the $5 mill bothers them much.
  9. If they play you guys they certainly will be.
  10. (Not looking it up.) It's either St. Louis or Boston.
  11. Your idiocy is undisputed.
  12. Johnson and Velazquez did well in their starts last year. All part of the magic I guess.
  13. I assume that the Yankees are sporting the heaviest roster in baseball history. Damn do they have a lot of hulks. This isn't some sort of fetish thing on Cash's part is it?
  14. The other question about this move is, when Stanton comes back does he play outfield full time? Is he healthy enough to do that? He wasn't last year.
  15. 1) They only ran Smith out there because it was a 5 run lead. 2) Kimbrel was looking for more twice what he got. 3) 4 titles in 15 years and 119 wins last year while being "cash strapped" isn't so bad. You're as clueless as ever, thanks for the laughs.
  16. I'm not happy about this, but the Yankees bigger need is their rotation. I'm waiting to see what they do about that.
  17. Leake's fWAR was much lower than his bWAR due to his 5.35 FIP, which was a result of 20 long balls allowed in 88.2 IP. He is a little Porcello-ish though.
  18. Beeks has done pretty well with the Rays. Not sure you can call him peanuts.
  19. The Cubs and Astros did some pretty beneficial tanking.
  20. Good job getting Means out of the game after 5.
  21. Right, but Don't Call Me Uncle Rico thinks Mookie was wrong to turn down the $200 million. I think he's right to believe someone would pay him $300 million.
  22. How about Machado's level?
  23. Dysfunctional sad sack franchises need fans too, absolutely.
  24. Good answer, although that signing didn't pay off in any meaningful way except for Rich Hill.
  25. When was the last time the Red Sox signed a minor league free agent starting pitcher that turned into something good?
