  1. Yeah, some folks get a little greedy.
  2. What happens to you if you're out?
  3. That's just another big can of old school vs. new school worms. But a lot of guys with no playoff experience have done great in the playoffs, and the reverse is also true. And last year we saw David Price go from Mr. Chock to Mr. Clutch.
  4. Losing Betts doesn't necessarily mean rebuild mode. After all, it would free up a lot of money to spend elsewhere.
  5. But the 2018 Red Sox did not have much in the way of players with successful playoff resumes... Nor did the 2017 Astros or 2016 Cubs, I don't think.
  6. I guess the Vegas boys have slightly thicker necks...
  7. However, I would point out that those top 5 teams have a combined total of 1 championship this century.
  8. Baseball-Reference hasn't updated this yet.
  9. It's an apples and oranges comparison no doubt. If you're a Red Sox fan it has to be Henry. He took over a team that had not won a title since 1918 - arguably the most famous drought in sports - and not only delivered that long-awaited title but now 4 of them.
  10. Now as a neutralist, I think the True Believer/Non-Believer dichotomy is a bit silly...
  11. No love for Lewis Black and Black Sabbath?
  12. You'd have as much luck trying to herd cats. I actually think the best thing is if you have optimists and pessimists (and even neutralists, which is what I am, I think) who can get along with each other and respect each other's views. Which I believe we actually do have here.
  13. Interestingly (or not), we have 3 players who are having substantially better offensive seasons than Mookie this year.
  14. Let's see if we can clarify JD's contract for the benefit of everyone: 5 years 110 million 2018 23,750,000 2019 23,750,000 Can opt out after this year 2020 23,750,000 Can opt out after this year 2021 19,375,000 2022 19,375,000 If he opts out after 2019 he foregoes 3 years and 62.5 million. If he opts out after 2020 he foregoes 2 years and 38.75 million.
  15. As he demonstrates again tonight. He's really putting up great back-to-back seasons for us.
  16. Also if you Google 'Kevin Kiermaier catches' or 'Byron Buxton catches' you will find plenty of clips of their best grabs (as you will with JBJ catches).
  17. The only thing I can really put forth is that you and I have both been saying that it's our starting pitching that killed us this year, and in those 7 games our starting pitching was dreadful.
  18. Personally, I don't think it's something that can be proven.
  19. If true, that really reflects badly on the character of the 2019 Sox, and on Cora as well.
  20. DD had nothing to do with Pedey.
  21. The Guardians schedule isn't really a joke. 6 vs Min 3 vs TB 3 vs Phil 3 vs Wash 7 vs CHW who the Guardians are 5-7 against so far. The Tiggers are the only real joke.
  22. With the off days we've only needed 4 starters. Price is expected to pitch on Sunday at last report.
  23. I'm guessing the results generally have a pretty high correlation to the standings for that year LOL
  24. Right. And I always feel the same way when it's you fellas.
