  1. Yeah, I wasn't sure about that. But technically, when I said they became the only team, that means they were the only team at that point in time. I didn't say they were still the only team.
  2. The moderators are the ones who decide what is a troll is, and the moderators on this site do an excellent job IMO. I have no real problem with harmony and jacksonianmarch, although I do take issue with them on certain posts. But that's a different story. I take issue with what a lot of Sox posters say too. Babe was a perfect example of what a troll is. He would take it to that next level of just being totally insulting and obnoxious. And that's why 'he gone'.
  3. I don't know what it is with the Yankees and all the injuries. One thing I've mentioned before is that the Yankee roster really features some extra large human beings. Betances being one of those.
  4. When you're a Red Sox fan, and someone attacks your team, that's personal. (Just a joke.)
  5. You're talking about it like it's a regular business. It's baseball. 'Plans to contend' are regularly based on hopes. The Red Sox have very little choice but to hope Sale and Price are healthy. They've got huge money invested in them. They can't trade them. They can't replace them.
  6. It's called unnecessarily stating the obvious.
  7. From 1972 to 1973 there was a jump of .52. That was the year Atlanta became the only team to ever have 3 players with 40 HR's. It's conceivable that had something to do with PED's. Tom House was on that team and later admitted to using PED's.
  8. Yeah, but it's one thing for a Sox fan to say it...
  9. This post doesn't even make sense. Of course we hope Sale and Price are healthy. Should we hope they're not healthy?
  10. Now that really is a troll post.
  11. Let's face it, sometimes being honest is just stupid.
  12. I think the Phillies once blew a 6.5 game lead with 12 to go, with the forever snake-bitten Gene Mauch as manager.
  13. That's the way it always is though. The usual explanation is 'we decided to move in a new direction'.
  14. Nah, it's just robots building robots. Strictly asexual and G-rated. .
  15. They make not have figured it out, but they will be doing it soon.
  16. It would extend the at bat as before, unless the foul ball rules are also changed.
  17. Hell, let's just make 2 strikes a strikeout and 3 balls a walk!
  18. 2021 and 2022 might depend on it too!
  19. Two very different positions. And I'm of the opinion that DD wasn't fired because of a bad 2019 season. If he was, that would have been an overreaction, yes.
  20. I can definitely see LeVangie being replaced.
  21. It's certainly possible. But I really can't see them firing Cora. Look at this way: He's been manager two seasons. Season 1 was the best season in franchise history. Season 2 was s*****. Wouldn't you give another chance to someone who had two seasons like that? It's sort of like a player who has an MVP season in his rookie year and a nasty sophomore slump in his second. Cutting the guy loose would seem to be a bit of an overreaction.
  22. Speaking of rolls, you are on one with the sardonic humor lately.
  23. A half-and-half approach to 2020 is not out of the question. Keep Betts. Pray for the health of Sale, Price and Eovaldi. Fill in the rest as necessary. If it all goes sideways, trade Mookie at the deadline and get some prospects back.
  24. I don't think Remy and Eck are clowns either. I respect their opinions. I don't doubt that they saw some things this spring that didn't look right to them. And then the early results obviously tended to support the position that those things were a mistake. Now Remy and Eck played ball in the 70's and 80's and I think they probably have a lot of old school in their thinking. I wonder if they were also skeptical about Cora's 'rest philosophy' in 2018. Bottom line, I would love to talk to these two further about the whole thing, and about Cora as a manager. I wish we could get them on here, seriously. Not happening of course. I suspect that in spite of their issues with spring training, neither would be in favor of firing Cora. But I can't say for sure.
